Good advice. I did point the discrepancy out to the agent. I am convinced they are all victims of a database error. Probably my biggest problem is if it is totaled; they may only pay out on the base version.
Thanks. I figured I had the right engine. Funny thing is my State Farm office also is charging me a premium based on the 1.8L. They must all be using the same faulty database.
I have taken my '09 Vibe in for service at the local Chevy dealer, as well as the local Toyota shop. Both service desks entered my VIN and the information comes back as a 1.8L base. I have a 2.4L, and it is there in the engine bay plain as day. I bought the car new, and the window sticker informatio...
Like I said before, I've been getting 27 mpg with my base 2.4 with the 5-speed auto. To the OP: if you put just over 13 gals in, that fuel dealer might be cheating a bit, or you like living close to the edge. I thought the tank only held 13.2 gals.
My daughter's boyfriend jump started her 2006 Matrix with similar results, although it no longer started. I found the 100 Amp alternator fuse blown, as well as several fuses under the dash were blown.Changed the fuses, all was well except for the melted battery terminal. BF swears up and down he did...
I notice a little more pedal resistance now, which I like. I have in the past run it up to redline while in park and bending over to get something out of the glove box, because there was so little pedal feel. The whole job took about 30 minutes.
It might be covered by your insurance (collision with roadbed) but if you have a high deductible you're out of luck. You could also file a claim with the municipality that maintains the road. Good luck!
When I first bought my '09 2.4, I was getting about 22, mostly city driving. After 3 months, I was getting 27. 100% gas, no ethanol. You can expect a decrease in fuel economy in the winter. I think it's due to a different cold weather gasoline blend, and the density of cold air.
I'm glad the Vibe passenger compartment stayed intact. That probably saved some innocent lives.I'm only guessing but judging by the two guys in the truck lengthy prison records, it's possible they were out doing their Christmas shoplifting and looking to make a getaway. Unfortunately, the shape of t...
I used to use a roof rack to haul my bikes on my Saab. I made a habit of opening my sunroof to remind me they were up there. My Vibe has no sunroof, and I'm forgetful enough to try to drive into my garage with a bike on the roof, so now I use a hitch mounted rack. I went with a Yakima Double Down an...
If you go the rack route, look for an '09-'10 Matrix rack on ebay. I got mine for $230 + shipping, which will be nominal since the dealer is in California.
You're on the right track. I had an '02 Impala that was killing batteries every two days. Found the BCM was the culprit by using the same ammeter/fuse pulling method you're using. Good luck!
I didn't do a CARS deal, but it got me into the showroom. I bought an '09 Base with 2.4L, 5 sp. auto, fog lights, and preferred package for $12586 after I traded my beater '94 Toyota 4x4 truck in for slightly more than the CARS rebate. This included a $4000 GM family rebate, plus about a $1700 GMS d...
Try eBay for both. I have bought the Toyota Matrix roof rack from Frank Motors on eBay for $230, and bought a LeBra for my daughter's Civic Si Hatchback from Rockymountainwheel, also an eBay vendor. Both were fast, and the products were unbeatable.Do a quick search for roof rack on the forums and yo...
In section 12-9 of the 2009 owner manual, it appears that the logic can be dealer programmed to unlock all doors when the car is put in Park, or when the ignition key is turned off.
I suggest you upgrade the speakers first. You'll be so pleased that you may decide to keep the factory head unit. The stock speakers are nothing more than beer coasters attached to refrigerator magnets.
I was surprised at my poor mpg with my 2.4L 5 speed auto when I first got it; I was getting about 20. Now, 7 weeks and 2200 miles later, I am getting 24 in town, and 32 on the highway. The major improvement has come in the last 500 miles or so, so you might be getting some improvement real soon.
Those numbers on Cadillac and Buick are telling. Who usually buys those brands? Older folks with some investments, I'd say. Investments that might include GM stock. Well, they had their investment in shares seized by the government, and given to UAW. Sharing the wealth, I think it's called. If you d...
Toyota and GM use different head units in '09. I already have done some legwork on this problem.A replacement head unit is the only choice. And you would need an adapter if you want to continue to use the OnStar. Adapters are available to allow steering wheel controls to control the new head unit an...
I can't answer whether his works, but i have heard lots of tales of these things being "snake oil." They're typically empty $.99 Radio Shack project boxes with 2 wires coming out of them. This seller sets off my warning bells due to the relative short duration of his career, his twelve feed...
I just finished installing four db651 ispeakers in my '09 today. The difference is quite remarkable - I can actually hear the piano notes on Supertramp's "Rudy", then the bass kicks in nice and loud and clean.I used the "hollowed out stock speaker" method discussed in previous th...
I can only speak from my own experience: back when I was younger I had a radar detector, and I used to get lots of tickets. Those things make you feel invincible. Cops know the game and they play it well. Furthermore, I think you are less likely to talk your way out of a ticket if the traffic cop se...
At first glance, it's kind of ugly, like a stretched Chrysler Crossfire. At 2nd, 3rd, and 4th glance it remains unappealing to me. In fairness, it might be gorgeous in person. Personally, I don't like the new grills on the Accords.
I had to pop out the small black trim underneath the door pull, and there was a third phillips screw. Everything was wavy gravy after that. It's interesting to note the cheap quality of the stock speakers. All paper construction, not even a "whizzer cone" tweeter, and a magnet that appoxima...
I have bought some Polk DB651s to upgrade the stock speakers. Using panel tools, I removed the panel containing the window lift switch, unplugged it, and removed two Phillips screws. Then I pried the clips loose all the way around the door. I am getting some resistance just below and in front of the...
I think what I would do is unplug the cables on the BCM body control module) and the throttle, and spray with electrical contact cleaner. Plug back in, then try it. If the problem persists, try to inspect the circuit board in the BCM. I am not familiar with the BCM in the Vibe, so I can't even tell ...
I bought a Matrix roof rack on eBay from Frank Motors. It was $230 plus $18 shipping. It arrived today, and within an hour it was installed. It looks and fits great. I almost went the Pontiac accessory route but prefer the Toyota's flat black finish. It comes with clear instructions. You'll need a 1...
