Matrix Roof Rack

Post by BiggieBoy »

Am wondering if the two roof cross rails on the Matrix roof rack are moveable (they move forward or backward) or are they stationary??? Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks,Bob

Based on this picture, I would say the cross rails may be stationary. I think your best bet would to send a PM to one of the members in this thread here who has the rack, they would be able to answer your question http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=38222

Ya--I think you're right. The rails do kinda look stationary. Will PM & question a member who has the Matrix rack. Thanks for your input,Bob

That's my Vibe, and no, the rails don't move. They come off easily, however.

Tonebalone---Thank you....The photo looks like a long bolt may run thru each of the 4 roof rail corner pieces, thru the long black plastic support rail and then screws into the metal roof somehow. Is that correct???Bob

There are four captured bolts and clamps on the cross rails. The side rails have a 'cut out' where the clamps 'catch'. You attach/remove the cross rails with an allen wrench. The side rails attach with four bolts each (8 total) to existing threaded bolts in the roof structure under the plastic covers.
