Last night out of curiosity I build a toyota matrix on the computer. One of the accessories was something that you could use to control the iPod through the main head unit. Is there anything out there that would allow me to control my iPod through the main control and steering wheel controls? Would it work with the GM radio? Thanks for your help... i've got a 09 Vibe GT.
Not certain but maybe you could actually get the Toyota part and have it installed? Not sure if it is just a plug in/solder in thing or if it requires a new/different head unit. I think there are some posts that may discuss just such a thing - try a search for "ipod" and make sure you select the search to include the body of the posts. Also, if you haven't already check out the sticky's above - "hard wire an iPod" and "hard wire an AUX device". That might give you what you want - tho I'm no expert.

I just read on the Toyota website and it says it plugs in the glove box. I remember when GM had this for the Chevrolet HHR back when i just to want one. I have to go back to the dealer monday. I guess I could ask them... though they will probably have no idea what im talking about.. ugh..
Toyota and GM use different head units in '09. I already have done some legwork on this problem.A replacement head unit is the only choice. And you would need an adapter if you want to continue to use the OnStar. Adapters are available to allow steering wheel controls to control the new head unit and iPod.I'm standing pat on this. I really like the integrated XM on the stock head unit, and since I upgraded the paper speakers, the sound is pretty good. I'll use my iPod through the AUX jack.
