Re: Ported My Throttlebody Pictures (dmitri)

Yes, a solid V8 only needs simple mods to go fast. An intake and throttle body along with the headers and exhaust help the engine breath better. Remember, the technology in the 80's was nowhere near what he have today. Most cars now have very good flowing intakes and exhausts.

Really, wow! I didn't know '88 IROCs came STOCK with an aftermarket intake, headers, exhaust, computer chip and mass air flow sensor. Here are just 2 sites that list the mid 15-sec times for late 80's IROC's:http://www.car-videos.com/performance/distance.asp?dist=1320http://www.missouri.edu/~apcb20/t...

Re: Ported My Throttlebody Pictures (roadrunner-r)

Most stock 80's IROC's were mid-15 to high 16 sec cars. Most were 305 V8's but there were a few 350 V8's. The 350's were the ones in the 15's while the 305's were the 16 sec cars.

You better check to see if the Vibe wheels will fit the Grand Am. The Vibe has a 5x100 bolt pattern while the 1999-up GA has a 5x115 bolt pattern. It's the 1998-older GA and all Cavalier/Sunbird/Sunfires that have the same bolt pattern as the Vibe.

Actually, both should be on bottles from the dealership. They probably also have a thire "part number" but I don't know those. Aftermarket paint will have different number but the ones I posted above will help you find the correct one in an auto parts store.

We never got a confirmed answer but that may be the reason. The 2004 17" tires are different from the ones used in 2003. The 2003 17" tires were summer-only while the 2004 17" tires are all season.
