there is a gentleman on the matrixvibe.net site who just installed a s/c on his awd matrix...took him and another guy 11 hrs to install but they have to have the dealer put on a pulley bolt (?) he said that trd said that the s/c would work but toyota seez that it would make the warranty on the driveline void.....they are claiming that the tranny is the weak point...isnt the tranny the same as on the non awd vibe/trix? so far the guy is very impressed w/torque improvements over stock and the tranny is shifting fine. there is hope yet for us 4whlrs!!!!!
quote:isnt the tranny the same as on the non awd vibe/trix?No, the AWD trans is totally different from the FWD trans. The gear ratios are totally different. The FWD trans has no output to the rear wheels like the AWD trans does.
quote:i heard that porshe designed the rear dif and it should be able to handle it thoughDid I read well? Posrche disagned the rear differential...Where did you get this info?An americano/japanese/germano Vibe!
i got this info from mike who is the trd manager for gibbons toyota. I met him at the Northeast meet. I think he's on this webapage as like trdmatrix or something like that.

well if it is designed by porsche it ought to take some twistin'...i know the buick rendezous (sic) awd system is designed by puch-steyr..the same guys from austria who do the awd for mb, porsche and other fine euro trash.
ATTENTION GM/TOYOTA PEOPLE WHO MAY READ THIS: try the SC out on an awd and see if it holds, you could be missing a big market opportunity due to assumption!

Here is the link guys http://www.matrixvibe.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3815So far everything is working well. I am a little dissapointed in speed as compared to other matrixs. But overall the power and torque is much improved. I am also using a CAI. I have also heard that the rear dif is designed by porsche. No one knows for sure exaclty what parts are the week links of the drivetrain. I had a tranny cooler installed to be extra safe. Read up on that link for more info. Also on matrixowners.com
