Need advice:Rodents chewing engine wires, need to know what the part is.

Hi, Long time no see Genvibe. Anyways, I have a 2007 base automatic vibe. Mice have been living under the plastic engine cover. They started to chew some wire. I may need to replace the wires soon, but I don't know what the parts are. They chewed the wire casing off the three plugs that insert into ...

Hi all, Does anybody know what the part number is for the hose in the picture directly above the throttle body? It runs from the top of the engine block to the side of the intake manifold. (See link below for picture). It is the hose directly above the 10mm socket he is using to unscrew the throttle...

Re: Need advice: CEL P0171

Thanks for the responses. I am not too sure if it was the gas cap, because from what I have read a loose cap shouldn't throw a P0171 code. Although, after I filled the tank and reclicked the cap a few times the light turned off. I don't know if that was just a coincidence or not. Anyways, I ordered ...

Re: Need advice: CEL P0171

Any advice on where to look for vacuum leaks under the hood?

Or how to test for leaks in the manifold gasket?

I have some carb cleaner I could spray around the manifold and listen for the increased idle. Would this work?

Also, will carb cleaner damage plastic?

Hello, Last night my check engine light came on during my drive home from work (it was 1 degree F at the time; I live in Montana). I have a 2007 base vibe with ~90K miles on it. Hello. I am interested in doing a simple drain and fill of the coolant for my 2007 base Vibe with 89K miles on it. I am the second owner and I don't believe the coolant has ever been replaced. I am looking for a little advice on this process. Anyways, I don't have access to any jack stands, nor do I...

Correct fluid capacities

Hi all, I am getting mixed messages about the capacities for a 2007 base Vibe. The manual says it takes 4.4 quarts of oil. Is this correct? I added about 4 quarts and it seems right on. Also, is the coolant capacity correct in the manual? It says 6.9 quarts. What about the transmission fluid? What i...

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately, none of the replies addressed my main question. I was concerned if having the ATF fluid slightly overfilled would be a serious problem for the tranny. Automatic Transmission Drain and Refill

Hello everyone. Yesterday I did my first drain and refill on the ATF fluid on a 2007 base model. I think I may have potentially overfilled the ATF fluid slightly, and was curious if this is going to cause problems/major issues. I have yet to drive the car, so I am unsure if it shifting differently. ...

Hello all. The CEL light on my 2007 Vibe turned on about a week ago. My car is a base-model FWD with about 80,000 miles on it. I had the computer scanned at O'Reillys. It was a P1071 "Running Lean" Bank 1 code. I cleaned the MAF sensor and checked for vacuum leaks. I reset the CEL light wh...

So my 2007 had a partially stuck caliper on the front driver side wheel. It caused the pad to wear quickly and the heat warped that rotor. This is what I was told by two different places.
