I am curious as to whether I got a good deal on front pads/rotors.

So my 2007 had a partially stuck caliper on the front driver side wheel. It caused the pad to wear quickly and the heat warped that rotor. This is what I was told by two different places. Meineke wanted to charge me $643 for new pads on the front, one new caliper, two new rotors, and a new brake hose. I thought that was a lot of money. Plus they didn't have the hose. I took my car to another place today, and they concluded that I needed a new caliper, 2 new pads, and 2 new rotors. They had said my brake hoses were fine (it is only a 2007 with 49,000 miles on it, how often do you need to change those hoses?). I ended up going with the second place, and the bill was $472 for everything. $472 for two new rotors, new pads, and a new caliper, plus labor. Is that a decent price for this kind of work? Also, do you think maybe it was the hoses that had caused the caliper to partially seize up? Or do you think it was just time and wear on the part? I am not certain how often one needs to buy new calipers.

to me the price is HI but, I haven't paid someone to do a brake job for me in over 20 years.I'm about to upgrade(i.e. not stock) my rotors and pads for 250...

Labor is where the cost really goes up.
