Re: Old school 1zz intake on 04 1zz? ++shiny (Tommychu)

The '02 Corolla aluminum intake manifold uses a 50 mm throttle body bore diameter. 03+ 1zz-fe's have a 55 mm throttle body. The old 1zz-fe throttle bodies use a 3-bolt mounting pattern, compared to the 03+ 4-bolt pattern. The old-style intake manifold might look nice, all polished-up, but performance ...

The answer to your question - is it 9mm or 15mm - is both. The oil catch can is installed inline, between the PCV valve and the intake manifold. If you notice, the stock hose connecting the PCV valve to the intake manifold is tapered. The end that connects to the PCV valve is 9mm (11/32") and th...

If you like the look of carbon fiber, and think the TRD c/f cover looks odd w/out supercharger, you can have your stock engine cover "covered" with a faux c/f film. A company called Pattern Tek (www.patterntek.com) can enhance the look of just about anything made of metal or rigid plastic....

You guys who are stripping the bolt, are you putting the 19mm socket or wrench on the right part? There's a 19mm hex cast into the tensioner arm (see pic). You "turn" that towards the front of the car. Do not turn the bolt below it. Also, being made out of soft aluminum, use a 6-point sock...
