Post by Petrucci914 »

Hello everyone,I'm replacing all my exhaust gaskets this weekend. What is the torque spec for the bolts on the DC Sports Header? Thanks!

Header flange to cylinder head (5 nuts) = 27 ft-lb.Midpipe to header (2 spring bolts) = 32 ft-lb.It's kinda tight behind the cylinder head to fit a torque wrench, to torque the header flange nuts. I snugged them down tight with a box-end wrench. One day, when I was checking, one of the nuts vibrated loose and was gone. Next time, I'll probably use split-lock washers. Also, when you tighten the header flange nuts, start with the center nut and work your way towards the outer-most nuts. This will help to minimize leaks. You can also check that the studs that the nuts screw onto are tight. Sometimes they loosen, too. You'll need an E5 or E7 "torx" socket to tighten those to 84 in-lb.
