Sticky shifter

So the shifter in the GT was notchy, sticky and just plain pissing me off. I did a search and found a thread from 03 about pulling off the shift boot and lubing the linkage.Well, I used some light grease and some Phil Wood Tenacious Oil (bicycle stuff) on all of the parts that I could see that moved...

Together and in the back. The air coming over the windshield is already dirtied when it hits the rack and continues to get muddled as it travels over the car. The crossbars will be in cleaner air if pushed to the front than in the back...

*********! TC wheels fit the Vibe GT just fine. I have had no problems since I got mine installed. The stock lugs worked as well...They are 5x100 lug pattern.

The white plastic thing definitely has something to do with smoothing the airflow into the intake. I just went and did some tests without it and the car seemed to stumble a bit on the 1/2 shift when jumping back in the throttle. I'm putting it back in...

Yeah, my shifting is really notchy and just way harder than a Toyo transmission should be...Next oil change, it's getting the tranny done too! I only have 10K miles on my car too!

The car itself looks ricey. The side skirts on the Vibe just aren't my taste. I put Hankook K106s on my new wheels and they seem to be really nice tires. Good in wet and dry and cheap from Discount Tire. $86 each I believe.

The hubs on my 04 GT have surface rust on them. It's visible through the wheels and quite annoying. Anyone else have the problem? I was thinking about getting caliper paint (silver) and fixing the problem...oh, and I know to how to prep and paint...

Go drive a GTI at a VW dealer and you'll sit in good seats...They just suck for lateral support. Overall, the cushioning is okay but JC, this little car begs to be driven in a spirited fashion thru twisty roads. The seat isn't holding up it's end of the bargain...!
