Weight of a Solstice is 2860, plus about an extra 250 lbs I'm guessing for the weight of the LS2 (and additional hardware) over the Ecotec, puts it around 3100 lbs./400 hp = 7.75 lbs/hp Not bad. For comparison though, a new $70K Z06 Vette is at 6.2 lbs/hp.

I'd be afraid how so much extra weight, all at the front end, would affect handling and ride.Really, it seems to be a perversion of the whole concept of the Soltice- a small, zippy, light, fun roadster. The concept that has earned the Lotus Elise and Mazda Miata such raves from enthusiasts and devoted followings. If hp numbers are what makes you excited, the Soltice is probably the wrong car to be looking at...

Must....resist...selling....Vibe....The wife wants a Solstice BAD...maybe I could talk her into this iteration.....I can see my car insurance going way up with that in the driveway. I should probably just get my DL and registration info etched into the driver side window glass...save the PO PO some time!
