I installed the new Exedy clutch and had the flywheel re-ground.Sean, was alot of help with direction's. Thank You!I did find alot of red dust in the bell housing and coating everything in there. That is caused by a bad pilot shaft bushing or bearing, or in the Vibe GT case they didn't have one to begin with. (Toyota quailty)Well after having the preasure plate ground down and installing the new clutch, p.plate & t.bearing. it was working fine including stalled the car once. After a few days it was time to lay the hammer down. acceration was awesome.chirpped second gear , then third gear and soon after kaboom.the rear of the transmission case broke off at the rear mount.what a cheap case. (toyota quailty)Does anyone know where I can get a cheap transmission?
For price comparison sake, a 5 speed cost me a grand from a junkyardbut since he's gonna push it hard, maybe he needs something tamer, like this http://cgi.ebay.com/TOYOTA-MAT...wItem
Ouch, I'm looking at one with 15,000 on it for $550But it's 150 miles away.I seen one last year for $50 on Ebay, I knew I should have bought it.Thanks blue crush
joatmon lolThe worst part is it's not my car, It's a friends car.she's been driving mine for awhile, until i get hers fixed.I'm stuck driving my old gas hog 4x4 for the time being.
sucks to break your own car, but more so to break someone else's. It was nice of you to replace the clutch for her. No good deed goes unpunished Might be worth the drive to pick up the $550 tranny. if you borrow your vibe for the trip, would end up costing a day and what, $20 in gas? sounds like a good deal. Be sure to cover up the back so any gear oil is captured, that stuff stinks, my car still has a bit of gear oil smell to it.
I call a tranny shop and there looking for a case for it. I should find out tommorow, if it possible or cost effective.I would swap with her but she drives fast, I'm affraid she'd roll my lifted blazer at the first corner she tries to turn.

I was going to go buy the one from army in ohio, But I also noticed alot of them talk about fixed rear mounts. So I decide to see if it was fixable and I was told yes.So i'm waiting on the case to be welded, since I can't find a case.
