If driving in snow or ice is a big concern you could also get snow tires. They do make a difference and they are a whole lot cheaper than AWD.

Don't forget that the varying results that people are having could be from whether they often drive on freeways or the slower back-roads. I have a bunch of paint chips (and some windshield chips) on my honda because I drive the freeway everyday at 80mph with lots of truck traffic that kicks up stone...

I like the back-end of that car, the way the side fenders cut into the hatch and tail lights. The front is kinda weak and it is overpriced. But I totally support any manufacturer taking a chance on new designs. Cars are finally getting interesting again.

Yes. That car rocks. I love the FX45 and the Nissan Murano (cheaper but not as cool). Nissan/Infinity really proved that you can take a concept car and bring it to production without watering it down into a typical blandmobile.

It's more than just a name change. When the sunbird changed to sunfire it was still built on the same J-body platform... same as the cavalier. The new cobalt will use a brand new platform that the ion is built on.

The rebadged Daewoo will be called the Chevy Aveo. and you're right, it's pretty fugly. But then the Metro wasn't exactly a "gotta have" car either. I think their target price is between 9000-11000 US. Honestly if the Aveo causes them to make the Cobalt BETTER then I'm all for it.

The '05 Cavalier will be replaced with an entirely new car based off the Delta platform (same as the Saturn Ion... but it won't look like the Ion).
