According to our GPS the max speed we have done is 256mph which is very impressive fro any car and some planes. Some how I think this is an error in the GPS.I am more interested in getting 27MPG in mixed driving, than making the Vibe land speed record.

Re: air conditioning (fss106)

I firstly apologize for treating you like an idiot, but sometimes it’s the simple things that get forgotten when people go trouble shooting.•Have the engine running (idle)•Have the fan selected to a speed so it blowing air•Select the AC to ON (light comes on) – check that the engine RPM in...

On this car, where its located and the speed that car does - the spoiler does nothing for car control. It may have more effect on noise than anything else.

Commodore ute

Attached are twwo pics of a cab/chassis Holden Commodore ute (the model/shape before the current). This was the 3.6l V6 work ute (not a truck) although it was rated to and did quite well carry 1800kg (3960lbs) in the back and i cant recall what its rated towing limit was, but I guess it was about th...

Re: and then there were none... (jake75)

And to make sure there are none ... the maker of the G8 is now selling a special edition Holden Commodore (in Australia) with the excess G8 panels. You can even buy it as a wagon and a ute (not a pick up).Top pics are the G8 paneled Commodore, and the lower pic is the a common Commodore. They havnt e...

We have an 03 with a sun roof and its fine.Has there been something dropping/put between the roof and the head liner that is rattling? as it goes away when you push up on it.Secondly, is the trim panel around the map light tight?

How times change view of the buying public. I am sure they will come back to wagons again. We were only talking last night and someone said that they wouldnt buy the new Forester as it is an SUV now rather than the small wagon it was.

When I said grown - I really should have said 'grown-up' or 'matured', in respect to their product quality and advancement.Toyota Australia - which is really what I am familiar with (and I am finding that its different to Toyota USA) puts out great value and quality for money product line with a goo...

Re: second thoughts (vibolista)

vibolista I agree on all points. And yeah you have hit on one of my fav gripes too.How many drivers actually read the vehicle operating manual? - very few, going by some of the questions on this forum. But then again how many second hand cars are sold here without a operating manual (many I would su...

Interesting read. I must say from my engineering experience with oils, personally surprised to see oil changes done on modern run about cars below 6000ml. This situation changes with older designed engines, worn engines, or engines under great load or dusty conditions. Oils on older design engines d...

I feel that this is a bit of an off the thread topic and that this discussion is maybe better for another thread.- you are right I was only talking about car (not any other form of vehicle) testing. Re: (JetBlack09VibeGT)

Well 'Toyota USA' has has grown rapidly. At the same time it has also evolved the US motor industry, possibly being the motivator for efforts towards quality and safety of the other two. For this reason the other two car makers have also grown just as rapidly in the same period and for this reason, ...

Re: (Hutch7)

I agree Toyota must be kicking them self atm. And to make it worse North Am Toyota are really not doing the right thing by the brand name in both R&D and handling the current situation. At the same time the media are really pushing the story too. Which makes me wonder - what recalls, or for that ...

Re: Overfilling at Gas Pump (RunSlow)

I have never had the problem of over filling, but I also manually hold the trigger/lever up while pumping (I dont lock it on). When it cuts off I just release the trigger/lever. As I hold it all the way up I guess I am getting full flow and I use different petrol stations all the time.
