I got an email from TCDFKA (The Car Division Formerly Known As) Pontiac, encouraging me to take advantage of the great rebates on remaining Pontiacs. Just for grins, I looked for a Vibe. Any engine, any model, any color, any equipment.Exactly ZERO could be located within 120 miles (of central Indiana), the maximum distance available using the search tool linked to the web site.

My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.

Article is wrong. There are twice as many G8's as Vibes.

I'd love a G8. The sales mgr just called me to see if I might steer any business his way (I bought my car June 13). He said they sold all their Pontiacs during C4C. A few more trickled in since then, but no Vibes. Pretty soon they'll just be Stirling Buick GMC (fortunately they also have a Honda dealership).

Quote, originally posted by michaelgt »Or 0% for 72 months!Buy a $20,000 Vibe - $1,000 discount and $2,500 rebate = $16,500;- $16,500 auto loan at 6% apr for 72 months = about $2,970 total interest. That's about $270/mo.Without rebate that Vibe may be $19,000. At 0% interest that is about $264 a month. If you sell or total the car before 72 months you lose with the 0% deal.If you finance $16,500 via a Home Equity Loan at 4.5% the interest is about $2,230 and it is deductible. If you take the money out of your Bank MM Acct that pays 2% and pay yourself back that is like a 2% deductible loan.

JakeYou are absolutely correct on the Vibe, especially if you have any home equity left.If you look at a G8 GT, at a $30 price, the 0% would be better if you keep the vehicle (and no accidents). If I could have found the new Suburban I wanted (also 0%), I may have went for it.

And to make sure there are none ... the maker of the G8 is now selling a special edition Holden Commodore (in Australia) with the excess G8 panels. You can even buy it as a wagon and a ute (not a pick up).Top pics are the G8 paneled Commodore, and the lower pic is the a common Commodore. They havnt even removed the lenses for the amber parking light/clearance light in the US made cars. Its possibly an additional turn signal on the AU cars.

A fantastic solution to a problem that need not exist!

I like the lower area of the Holden, but prefer the double nostril of the Pontiac.Wonder if any G8's are left in the US?
