Re: (joatmon)

I am planning to keep this car for the long haul. Other then this problem I have not had any other issues. The car feels solid. The more I think about advantages of having AWD in my area the more it makes sense to get it fix properly.

Re: (Wolfman213)

It does not look easy. shafts which connect to the wheel coming out at the each end, and the seal at that point is leaking.

Differential leaking

Hello all,I have a 2005 AWD vibe. Lately I have noticed oil drops at rear end of the car, further inspection revealed it was the rear differential for the awd. I took it to a trusted mechanic, and he quoted 6hr labor to change both seals. $500cdn +tax. He did refill it with 1liter of gear oil. Does ...

Oil pressure switch

After changing the oil filter in my 2005 AWD vibe, I noticed Oil light not coming on during the start of the car. I took it to local mechanic and he changed the Oil pressure sending switch. Now the light is back on at the starting of the car. Would anyone know where is this switch located? I think I...

Oil light not coming on

My 2005 awd Oil light does not come on when I start the car. Could it be that L.E.D. is burnt out or plug from the harness came loose? How easy is it to remove the cluster to see the back for anything loose. The car runs fine, but check light at the starting of the engine stays off. Any Ideas of wha...

Re: high fuel consumption (prathman)

you are correct. Corolla is mostly highway driven. and is five speed. Also differential fluid is in a permanent seal casing, that is what I was told. I had my auto transmission and coolant fluid replaced. I have not taken the car for a long drive yet, perhaps then I'll know the true millage.

high fuel consumption

Two months ago I got rid of my 1999 3.0L Dodge minivan and purchased a 2005AWD Vibe. The car fits our lifestyle. However I've noticed the gas millage is not any better then my old minivan. The car is driven the same route as the previous van had. My wife drives it most of the time. it's averaging 11...

Re: Oil Filter Wrench (breezd)

I bought this socket cup, and is made out of graphite so must be strong. I also tested on the similar oil filter and fits very snug. I will try this weekend and hopefully it will work.Thank you all for the input.

Re: Drove my vibe from toronto to montreal and back over the weekend... (elkhaze)

Do you realize if you go 50+ over the speed limit your car gets taken away on the spot for 48hrs and you are left on the side of 401, and have to find your way back. Plus huge fine. Take care out there on the road.

Oil Filter Wrench

Which Filter wrench works the best for removing the oil Filter? I have a typical metal filter wrench which keep slipping, and this time I could not use my own grip to make it loose. It's on really tight. I had to pack up and will try again next week.

Re: (rAERRK)

I went to the Cowan Pontiac dealer today, If I take financing from their bank and pay it off after one month and save $3000. Got the price for 2009 1sb package out the door for $9400 with the trade in. Trade in is $10500. I think trade value is low, so I will do some more searching and decide what m...

2009 vibe

Hello all,I have 2005 awd vibe with 98K. The car is running fine. However I am thinking of trading in for 2009 xr. I believe I could get $11K for this car and 2009 xr has better gas millage then awd and more safety features. Any thoughts?

windshield washer flush

I just bought a 2005 awd vibe. 97000km .Car is great. However every time temperature goes below zero, the washer fluid freezes. I live in Canada. How can I drain the tank? or can I add anything in the tank so it does not freeze. I am thinking previous owner put water in the tank. Thanks you for your...
