Oil Filter Wrench

Post by to106 »

Which Filter wrench works the best for removing the oil Filter? I have a typical metal filter wrench which keep slipping, and this time I could not use my own grip to make it loose. It's on really tight. I had to pack up and will try again next week.

I have the type that has a 3/8" drive, and is a socket cup that slips over and matches the bolt type pattern formed on the end of the filters. Works great, as all the muscle work is below the engine.

I bought this socket cup, and is made out of graphite so must be strong. I also tested on the similar oil filter and fits very snug. I will try this weekend and hopefully it will work.Thank you all for the input.
