Re: Idle dropping when on the brakes. (chadhgraves)

I drove it to work today in 20 degree temps and by the time I got to work it was bogging down at a stop again. I'm just gonna start with the cheapest fix and work my way up from this point. I'll get the new gasket and install it. Hopefully that will fix it. I swear this car knows it's on the choppin...

Re: Idle dropping when on the brakes. (sideshowalan)

I called the local Toyota dealer and they have the updated gasket in stock for $5.XX . Just for the heck of it I took the throttle body off today. The air intake hose that goes into the TB had a slightly loosened clamp. The TB had some gunk in it but not too bad. I cleaned it all up. I popped a hose...

Re: Idle dropping when on the brakes. (sideshowalan)

It only bogs down under load while on the brake pedal. I'll try cleaning the MAFS. I cleaned it the last time I cleaned my K&N panel filter. Maybe it got a little oil buildup on the wires. How much of a job is the intake manifold gasket? Any good places to get the gasket?

Idle dropping when on the brakes.

I've been having a problem lately with my 03 AWD Vibe. When I come to a stop and sitting at a red light in drive with my foot on the brake, the RPMs bog down to like 500. This also causes my charging voltage to drop. Could this be a problem with the brake electronics or should I be looking into a se...

Well I took it for a ride into town with the hoses connected together without the purge valve. It started to bog the RPMs at a red light and drop the volts to around 12 again. It only seems to do it when my foot is on the brake and there are accessories running. For some reason that brake system dra...

Is it ok to bypass the evap purge solenoid?

I just went through the trouble to replace my 03 Vibe's alternator only to find out that wasn't the problem. When the car is at a light with the heater running the RPMs drop and the charging voltage drops down into the 12V range when it should be a constant 14+ volts. I was under the hood checking t...

I have an 03 Vibe AWD that needs a new cat. I was wondering if This replacement would work? I have friends that could weld it in. Would I need any other parts i.e. gaskets, clamps, etc.?http://www.ebay.com/itm/Magnaf..._1344

I've just realized my 03 AWD Vibe has leaky axle seals on both sides. I've found the service procedure pdf but it doesn't have any part numbers. What part number is the seal where the rear axle goes into the rear diff.? Will I need to buy new CV shafts? Any other part numbers I may need to be replac...

When should I change the plugs?

I bought my Vibe with 99K miles. Soon after, I checked the plugs and they looked like new with a nice clean burn on them. I'm now up to around 117K and I'm wondering if I should change them anyway. I don't know if they're the original plugs or not. It's 99% highway driven 03 AWD and I average 28 MPG...

The seal around the piston looks good. My slider pins were like new but needed a little lube which I did. 03 AWD auto shifting sluggish when cold.

I've noticed lately when the weather is cold, that my vibe is hanging in lower gears when going from 0-40 MPH until it warms up. The fluid is at the right level and looks good. Anyone else have this problem? It doesn't take long for it to start shifting normal but it concerns me a little.

It could be. The bolt pattern seemed a little off but I was able to get them started on the lugs until the rim contacted the calipers. Does the camry 15" have the same bolt pattern? The only ones I know about are subaru and corollas but unsure of what years.
