Vibe AWD Newbie here, Hello..

Post by Jeremy_K »

What's up guys? I just bought an 03 AWD Vibe for my third vehicle. I needed something that gets better mileage and AWD for the snow. I drove my Father in law's 03 FWD Vibe and liked the way it rode and it's reliability. I also own a 1990 Supercharged 3.8 Mercury Cougar and an 04 GMC Yukon 4X4. Both are gas guzzlers and the Cat takes premium being Supercharged. The Vibe will be my new daily commuter. I'm hoping it will get decent MPG. I'll do some searching before I go asking dumb questions! -Jeremy

I'd like to get the windows tinted and the Sirius satellite radio. Any ideas on a good radio and satellite setup? That will be my only mods for now. I'll get some pics up once I wash it. If it ever stops raining here!

Congrats on the Vibe purchase and welcome! I've been averaging around 27 MPG in my '05 AWD (60/40 highway/city) - you'll find it's pretty good in the snow.

I took it on a road trip using cruise the whole way at around 72 MPH and got 32 MPG! Not bad for an AWD vehicle loaded with a couple people and suitcases. I average about 28 MPG with it so I'm happy. I was commuting in my Yukon which gets 15 MPG. If I need something with guts I'll drive that. I'll have to get some pics up. I got the windows tinted and installed a Pioneer deck to go with the moons n tunes. Sounds pretty darn good. Overall I'm very happy with it.

Welcome to the club, I've only had my 04 AWD about 3,000 miles and average about 28 mpg. Might take a while to get used to the smaller fuel tank, going from the 20+ gallon Yukon to the 12 gallon Vibe.
