Need a new catalytic converter will this work?

Post by Jeremy_K »

I have an 03 Vibe AWD that needs a new cat. I was wondering if This replacement would work? I have friends that could weld it in. Would I need any other parts i.e. gaskets, clamps, etc.?http://www.ebay.com/itm/Magnaf..._1344

You'd need to cut the flange off the old Cat and weld it to the new one. Other than that. Nope. Though may want to replace the donut/gasket on the flange.Pat

oh its a blast to do, my lower a-arm to spindle bolts are seezed into the bushings, chances are from road salt. I got one axle shaft to pop out and they really come out easy. If your bolts come out its not too bad of a job.I wanted to pick your brain to see if you had this trouble but i guess not yet since you didnt start. I am working on a how to write up for it for others that have to do this repair.

When mine went out last year, I paid $760 to replace it. Good luck!
