Re: 2003 Blower Motor Stops During Right Hand Turns

Sounds similar to a problem I had with the blower motor on my 05 base Vibe. Apparently one or both of the blower motor brushes was hanging-up, producing intermittent motor operation. I sprayed the brushes with WD-40 three years ago, and have had no failures since! See thread: http://forums.genvibe....

2003 Blower Motor Stops During Right Hand Turns

So this one's weird. My '03 just crossed 222,222 miles (had it for over 13 years now). Just after I started bragging about it, I noticed the blower motor for the HVAC wasn't working. Figured it was no biggie, simple fix. But then it started working again. Seems that now, it works at all speed settin...

Re: help! how to change light bulb for vent/ac display on d

Well, I'm finally getting around to updating this thread again. Got a couple of new bulbs (GM Part Number 88970578) for about $20 each. What a ridiculous price! Anyway, like I said earlier, these bulbs install from the rear and lock in place via a quarter turn. After fumbling around for quite some t...

Re: help! how to change light bulb for vent/ac display on d

Just resurrecting this old thread. My lights have been intermittently working for a while now. Today I decided to remove the bulbs, clean the contacts, and reinstall them. Found out that even though they are installed from the rear, they are very easy to remove from the front (you can push the locki...

Well, thanks to you guys I just fixed mine. Didn't want to wait around for the new servo motor to arrive, so I just spun the main gear 180 deg. Works great. Hopefully I'll get another 7 years before the teeth break off again.

I just finished an install of a new HU (Pioneer DEH-p9800BT) and iPod adapter on my '03 with Moon&Tunes. VERY straightforward to do (especially if you've ever done a head unit install before). I bought the appropriate wiring harness and install bracket from Crutchfield. Got a line level converte...

Oh well, it is probably the ugliest car in GM's current US lineup. They're nice enough cars (rented one several times), but I prefer the Impala, as far as looks and usability.

Sorry about that...'03 Base, 5 speed, 16" factory aluminum alloy wheels. ~28000 miles on BFG Traction T/A tires.I'll double check the torque this weekend (assuming I can find my torque wrench--I'm in the middle of a move and everything's in storage).

Weird vibration at 75mph

So I've been dealing with a weird vibration that peaks at about 75mph. It's been bugging me for quite a while now, but finally reached the point where I had to do something about it. I've had the tires balanced and rotated on a regular basis. Just had it done again (primarily to get them balanced).A...

Re: Couple of quickies - new HU for my '03 w/M&T (lombard)

OK, I've got some more questions...Did some more reading, and I'm getting some mixed results. Seems there are a couple of alternatives out there. Clearly I need to send line level outputs to the M&T amp. I read one thread (ragingfish, I think you responded in it) discussing this very issue. Some...

Yeah, I had a fair amount of road grime too. Luckily, it's only seen 4 weeks of salty roads in its life (2 christmas trips "home" to Minnesota). Several of the bolts were a little tough to get started, but after that I was home free. How heavy is the camper you're planning to tow? I'd think...

Yeah, I just rotated my tires too. I'm really surprised I didn't end up with at least one broken stud. My last tire rotation was done at the dealer, and they obviously used a mondo impact wrench to tighten the lug nuts. I had a 1 and a half foot cheater bar on my ratchet, and even bouncing my 180 po...

Well, I decided to tackle it myself. I noticed the same torx bolts. Unhooked the battery and proceded to pull the bolts. Those dang things are in there tight. All I have for running torx bolts is a cheapo ratcheting driver with interchangeable bits. The hex connection between the driver and the bit ...

I'm happy with it, but I would prefer just a tad more low end torque. Looks like I'll be signing up for the sup...

Another new Vibe!

Well, last Tuesday I went to my local pontiac dealer to test drive a new GT. After a pretty thorough test, I realized that the GT wasn't really going to suit my needs. I don't like having to drive like a street racer all the time just to get the power. So my new plan was to track down a base vibe wi...

All right, really simple question. Every Vibe I've seen so far has cruise, but I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere in the options or standard equipment. So is cruise control part of the Option 1SA package? What else is in the 1SA Option package?

Thanks for the replies guys. I test drove a GT last night, but didn't really care for having to wind the engine up to 6000 RPM to feel the power. Base vibe + GM SC vs. Stock GT?

Well, I'm looking at picking up a new Vibe in the next week or two. There's a couple of GTs available locally, but no base vibes with the 5 speed. But I'm kind of curious....not really sure I want to deal with the peaky power delivery of the GT engine (winding it up past 6000 RPM all the time), so I...
