Well, last Tuesday I went to my local pontiac dealer to test drive a new GT. After a pretty thorough test, I realized that the GT wasn't really going to suit my needs. I don't like having to drive like a street racer all the time just to get the power. So my new plan was to track down a base vibe with a 5 speed and hopefully strap the factory supercharger on it sometime next year.Well, today I went in and talked to the dealer again. Told him I wanted a Shadow, 5 speed, Moon and Tunes, power package, alloys, and ABS. Would you believe he found that exact car at another dealer somewhere??? So hopefully on Monday or Tuesday I'll be picking up my new baby! I'll be sure to post photos as soon as I can. And my apologies to all you canadians waiting around for months and months to get your car. I really do sympathize.

A sway bar helps minimize suspension sway and roll, and gives the wheels better contact on the road for better traction. And just curious, too. What kind of trailer do you pull with a 130 HP car??

quote:What kind of trailer do you pull with a 130 HP car??I haven't got my trailer hitch yet, but plan to pull a 4x8 foot utility trailer as well as small tent trailers or a boler trailer as illustrated. If my dad could haul 5 of us and a boler with a 72 chevelle powered by a 250 six and a 2 speed powerglide transmission, the Vibe should be fine. If not then the Mrs. will be talked into the supercharger option. Should only take a couple of bottles of wine to get her convinced. She loves camping....

What kind of trailer do you pull with a 130 HP car??I have a small 4 X 8 trailer I've had for quite a few years that I pulled around with my 94 (120 hp) cavalier, and my 97 Z-24 cavalier (150 hp). The Vibe's towing rating is at 1500 lbs which is greater than either of the cavaliers. Yes, you need some torque to get the combo going, but the vehicle needs capable brakes to haul it to a stop also. If you have a 2700lb car, it's not going to be able to stop a 5000lb trailer very well. I've hauled my quad around, and many trips to Lowe's & Home Depot when I built my pole barn for lumber, drywall, etc.
Great choice on your Vibe. I have the same thing only its monotone. Congratulations on not having to wait a long time to get yours, some people are waiting 10-15 weeks to get their's.
Abyss Monotone GT, 6 speed, Moon & Tunes, Power Group, and 16" Alloys. Soon you can see my Vibe GT at Shadowrealm's car pics but for now it is under construction!
I echo the "good choice". My car exactly except I didn't opt for the heavy duty stereo. Have fun!

Just got back from the dealer. Out with the old, in with the new! I think I am going to miss the low end torque of my truck though.....at least until I strap in the supercharger! You can see the S-10 I got rid of in the background.
That's great!! Mark and I get to pick our new Vibe up tommorow!!!
