It's spendy, but the company claims their iPod integration kit that allows factory HU to control the iPod is available for the 2004 Vibe (wonder if it would work with my 2003?)....Dension
That would only work in place of an external changer, which means it would only work for nav system owners. IIRC, the other two decks aren't equipped to handle an external changer. My advice: Save your money.

I was looking at a kit by PIE (GM12-AUX) for my iPod. I am currently using a generic FM modulatorin my 2004 Vibe, but it lacks some punch (low bass). According to the docs, it should work with my 6 disc changer. I have yet to pull the unit out of my dash to verify the wire harness. I have noticed that there are two variations of this radio (one with auto volume control, one without), so I do not yet know if it will work. I will let y'all know as soon as I can.BTW- here is a link to the GM12-AUXhttp://www.audiowarehouse.peac...x.htm
An indash changer, no.If you have nav with the remote changer, then yes.I beleive several people have tried to make these things work with non-nav systems, and no one as succeeded.

I just pulled out my radio today to add a remote power wire to my new (used, but new to me) amp and noticed a space for another plug in the back right next to the mian plug. I wonder what that space is for?

It's a standard GM12 plug...on other radios, it'd be used for OnStar, external changer, Power for the M&T amp...but on the Base Vibe radio...it's just there because it's a standard design.

I just pulled my radio last night to verify the wire scheme. It apperars the 12 pin harness is there for options. I assume there might be a wire harness in the rear for an optional CD changer. I am still wondering why my 6 disc changer has an AUX button. The documentation from PIE (the only AUX input converter I could find for the Vibe) has a footnote indicating it is NOT compatible with 6 disc changers (waaaaa!).I will not give up yet. Where there's a will, I want my name on it! ;-)Okay, just checked LogJam Electronics, and they state on their web page that the GM12-AUX will support the 6 disc changer: http://www.logjamelectronics.com/piegm12aux.htmlI just bought one. I will respond when I have in installed and let y'all know the outcome.
It does say it'll work with 04 indash changers... So go ahead and give it a shot. The GM12X3 by PIE works with my Nav system, but up until now, that was the only system that could use the direct AUX in.Thanks for letting us know, it'll help out a lot of other people looking for the same thing!

OK, I finally recieved my GM12-AUX. It does _NOT_ work with the 6-disc changer. I finally read on another thread that the only radio suitable is the DVD nagigator box. OFW. I found an FM moddulator that had better bass response than my old one (that's what I get for going cheap!) and my system sounds better now. My next project is to amplify the headphone out put on my mp3 playerhttp://www.minidisc.org/headbanger.htmlI am thinking about installing the DVD navigator, but I have not yet recieved the specs on the antenna. I have the moon n' tunes, so I would have to relocate it towards the back, if it will fit.Anyways...back to work!

I'm not sure if it would work in a M&T setup..and what do you meana bout relocating towards the back? The stock NAV GPS antenna is mounted inside the dashboard, about 6 inches back from the radio.

I assumed the DVD nav unit could not be installed on a M&T because the sunroof would be in the way. Hmmmmm, I wonder what the incompatiblility is. If I can talk the wife into it, I will try to install the DVD nav system. Who knows....it just might work (yeah, I remember everyone telling me the aux input converter wouldn't work, but I had to try!)
Ohhh.... I see! I don't think anyone has understood why the Nav system couldn't have a moonroof..The Nav system fits in place of the M&T radio, the antenna is mounted in the dash, a few inches back from the radio. The CD Changer mounts where the M&T amp goes. It's been reported that you can throw a NAV system into a non-nav car, though it is missing a few things getting to the radio, like the speed sensor, and reverse wires. Also, if you put the NAV system in, unless you get the changer that comes with it, and the wiring to that, you won't be able to listen to a CD and have the NAV going as well.If you can afford it, i'd say you might want to invest in the Pioneer AVIC-N1. It's a little pricier, but it adds DVD playback, XM radio addability, and it reads MP3 burned CDs, plus the navigation, and it'll allow you to do limited navigation with a CD or movie in the drive.

I plan on keeping a stock radio to keep it from looking like I have something _really_ nice.
