Replacing broken side power mirror on 03 Vibe

Hey Genvibe,Some moron knocked out the left side mirror on my 03 Vibe when it was parked on the street. Picture: http://i.imgur.com/MtBGz.jpgWhat does it take to replace the mirror? Is it possible to attach just the mirror lens itself, or must I replace the entire mirror assembly? Note that the uppe...

Can I still have recall work done on my Vibe?

Hey all, I have a 2003 Vibe that is covered under the power window recall but I never got around to having the work done on it. Is it still possible to have the repairs done, especially with what is going on with GM/Pontiac right now? And for those of you that have had it done, how long does your de...

Interior AC duct loose + moisture in glovebox

Today I noticed that there was a significant amount of moisture inside of my glovebox when I noticed that my digital camera (with a metal body) was wet after sitting there for an hour or two! It scared the crap out of me but the camera seems to be ok; on the other hand I want to make sure this doesn...

Torque converter lockup not engaging?

Greetings! I have a 2003 Vibe (regular model with automatic transmission) with about 103K on it, and lately I've noticed that the torque converter does not seem to be locking up during highway driving. Whenever I'm on the highway the RPM will not drop a few hundred after I stop accelerating when it'...

Re: (ragingfish)

Yes I had read that and it's where I had gotten the thing about the blue/white on the harness from. And for future reference I ended up connecting the unit's blue (antenna/amp) wire to the blue-white and it works great.

No blue/white wire on stereo? (M&T)

I have a 2003 Vibe with Moon & Tunes and I am installing a new stereo unit. I read about the issues that some have had with the amplifier and the blue/white wire on the harness. The harness that I purchased has a blue/white and blue wire, however my stereo only has a blue wire for "power an...

how to put front driver door panel back on?

I removed my front driver door panel to see why my speaker wasn't working....turns out the speaker's connector had become disconnected. Now for the life of me I can't figure out how to get the door panel back on. The top of the door (the rubber thing that sits against the window plus the part that s...

Issues with reading light button?

I'm having problems with the reading light button in my Vibe. Sometimes when I press it it'll turn on (while my finger is on it) but then it'll turn off once I take my finger off the button. But if I wiggle the button a little it'll turn back on.I only started having this problem after I had to stor...

I guess I'll try the Naval Jelly. Does it have the ability to damage the surrounding paint at all? or is that something I don't need to worry about? Thanks for all the advice!

Removing (tiny) rust spots from paint chips?

On my Vibe's hood there are a number of paint chips, which seems to be a fairly common problem. Some of them have began to show a little rust, which is something that I need to fix before I cover them with touch-up paint. Of course though is the problem that these paint chips are so tiny (~1-2mm in ...

Center console compartment - spring loaded "button" or not?

I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with the issue with the center compartment falling down all the time. I had the same issue on my 03 Vibe so I took it out of the car myself because I didn't need it anyways. My mom recently took the car into the GM dealership to have an oil change on it and have thi...

This part is the same on the Matrix as on the Vibe, right? I called a couple of Pontiac dealers and they want about $40-50 for the part. I called a couple of Toyota dealers and one said that they could get it for $20 or so, but both asked for my VIN to confirm that it's the right part, and I'm assum...

Thanks for the replies! For those saying "tell him to get his own car" - I'm in a tough situation - the Vibe is owned by my parents but they're giving me the car after this year. I'm a senior in high school and the rest of my family is moving after this year (while I'm going to school relat...

How to set RPM/speed limit?

I have a 2003 Vibe with automatic transmission. I'm in a situation where I would like to set a speed/RPM limiter on my Vibe - I have to share the car with my brother who seems to drive it a bit abusively. (of course it would make sure that I don't go crazy too...)Is there a way to set a speed and/or...

Re: (ragingfish)

Do you know what the piece is called? I have no idea.... Would fixing this just involve replacing the broken piece of plastic or would I have to buy everything including the switches? I would go and take a look but I can't get to my Vibe right now. Thanks for the replies everyone!

Power window/lock plastic piece on driver's door popped out?

The other day I noticed that the piece of plastic with all of the power window controls (by the driver's seat) had suddenly popped out on one of the sides. (I have no idea what to call the piece...) Has anyone else had this happen to them? What might have caused the problem? I'm guessing it was prob...

Auto trans takes a few seconds to shift out of 3rd?

I have a 2003 base Vibe with an automatic transmission. I've noticed that when I press on the gas enough to get it to shift from 4th gear to 3rd gear (usually if I'm going up a long hill) it will take a little longer than it should to shift back from 3rd to 4th. Whenever I would get to the top of th...
