Hey Genvibe,Some moron knocked out the left side mirror on my 03 Vibe when it was parked on the street. Picture: http://i.imgur.com/MtBGz.jpgWhat does it take to replace the mirror? Is it possible to attach just the mirror lens itself, or must I replace the entire mirror assembly? Note that the upper left "clip" on the motor unit (near the center) is gone...if I can install a new lens, would this cause any problem?Any advice appreciated...thanks all!-scoot
Yeah, I'm thinkin' that clip to be necessary to hold and guide the glass. Sometimes you can find just a replacement glass, but in your case.... I think its junkyard (or eBay) time for a new mirror.People have no respect for personal property any more. Sorry this happened to you.

I recently replaced my driver's side mirror with one I bought from ebay for less than $50.00 shipped. I was happy with it. You're lucky to have a black one. No painting. Make sure you order one with a power mirror motor.

Mirrors are simple enough that you cannot get a replacement glass piece. I tried before and everyone I talked to didn't offer them or they were priced well above the mirror unit itself. It is easy enough to remove/install. Pop the interior cap off, remove the 3 bolts, slide mirror out, unplug harness. Then just put the rubber gasket back in place and install the new mirror. I did this for my brother for his Jetta when his mirror got knocked off. Save $60 over the dealer.
