On my 2006 if I turn the key to the right it unlocks the glass and when I turn it to the left it unlocks the entire hatch back. One key for all the locks on mine. If your key does not turn at all maybe you need to squirt in a little lock lubricant.

Does she have here foot on the brake when she shifts out of park? There is a solenoid to lock the shifter unless foot is on brake. Maybe she is not pressing down quite far enough.

Please correct me if I am wrong but I always thought that on the AWD Vibe the front tires were to be set at 35 and rear at 32 because of the extra weight of the engine over the front tires and the difference is to keep the rolling diameter of all four tires the same to reduce wear on the AWD system....
