I don't think my 2000 Sonoma had a glove box lock either...nor do my parents' Trailblazers as far as I have observed...though I could be completely unobservant. Maybe it's something GM phased out or is phasing out as a whole? It would be nice...probably wouldn't work too well with my warped glovebox though. LOL

Ya know, that brings up an interesting question. I used to work at a place where we made dashboards for boats. I have some locking glove box latches somewhere that were sent in as samples. I should find them and see if any of them fit the Vibe latch. I will let you know what I come up with.
Shave the handle and make it operate by remote control.

Sorry for reviving a very old post, but after five years maybe something has come up? I am now actively searching for a way to lock the glove box. My Vibe was broken into last night and the thief got away with an iPod among other things. My question, is there another latch that has a lock, (maybe from another car), that could work? Or secondly is there other entire glove boxes which include a lock that could also be modded to fit? Thanks.
