Re: What kind of shifter knob??? (Mrizzle05)

The Hurst knob will probably not fit our sticks because it's more than likely a metric thread and Hursts only come with SAE thread parts.Nothing a tap won't fix though...I ran into the same problem on the transfer case shifter on my truck but I fixed that.

Re: (drunkenvibe)

I don't understand why people say Silverstars don't last. I bought a set for my Grand Prix and they were working when I traded it in on the Vibe and they were 2 years old. The ones in my truck (Nissan Frontier) have been running for 3 and a half.Heck, on the truck the Silverstars have been in longer...

Seeing as I am in the middle of tearing apart my factory stereo system to add a subs and an amp to go with them I can help you a little better. The tweeters on the Moon and Tunes are powered directly from the amp under the passenger seat. They are not just tapped into the front speakers like the Gran...

Yeah, I've given up on the amp lead.I decided that I want to switch the amp on and off manually, so I'm going to get a switch to mount in the blanks near the steering wheel. I don't want the subs blaring when the kids are in the car. So I'll just do this instead. It's for the children....

Did that.I only get 12V from two wires. One wire on the smaller plug and one black one on the the one with the arrow on it above. But they also put out 12V with the radio powered off.

Amp turn on lead?

This is a picture of the wiring harnesses that connect to the factory Moon and Tunes amplifier of a Base 04 Vibe. The one harness has an arrow on it that I drew, pointing to a blue wire with a white stripe (although you can't see the blue stripe, it's there). Is this the proper wire to use to turn o...

Audio help needed.

I have a 2004 Base Vibe Moon and Tunes. I like the factory system, aside from the fact I'm subwoofer-less. I have a set of 10" Alpine TypeR subs and a good box and an amp. I'm going to put them in and cure this whole subwoofer-less problem.I know from experience with other vehicles that afterma...

Re: Can anyone help me? (CFD911)

I did something similiar to this on my Grand Prix. It had the factory tweeters and I was putting aftermarket ones in the pods. What I found was a little disturbing, the factory tweeters didn't have a crossover, they were simply tapped in to the same wires that went to the door speaker.Your way is an...

I don't know anything about the Vibe, but I will offer a word of warning when changing to a stronger alternator. You may need to replace the fuseable link if you go to a higher output alt.I also have a 2000 Nissan Frontier that has an anemic alternator and a popular mod for us offroad guys putting o...

04 upgrade questions

This seems to be a somewhat popular project around here. I have the 04 Moon and Tunes which is, of course, lacking the subwoofer. I also have the single CD player w/ XM.I would very much like to put the 05 sub in my 04, along with a factory 6 disc changer w/ XM.Has anyone done this and have a parts/...

New member here. I just picked up a used, but excellent condition 2004 Vibe. Base model, fully loaded, leather, Moon and Tunes, XM, the works. So far, I love it. The wife loves it and the kids think it's a blast.I'll probably be hanging out in the audio forum as my first task is to upgrade it somehow...

gnnr, I remember you from CGP. I can't answer most of your questions, but I just traded my 1999 GPGT for a 2004 Vibe. The steering wheel/wife issue is one that worried my in my GP also. I always figured the air bag would snap her neck if it ever went off. She sits a little further away from the wheel...
