Follow-up to the previous post on this topic. If you use Crutchfield's "What Fits My Car?" feature, you will notice that their website states that the PIE GM12-AUXV2 does not work with the Vibe...NOT TRUE! I checked out PIE's website, and they list the Vibe among the models that this adapte...

Re: (kostby)

I use my laptop with a GPS sensor and mapping/tracking software when I'm working on the road; I fold the front seat forward and secure the laptop to the seatback with a ratchet strap. Like the previous poster, I use an old-school three prong adapter. Saves me from having to worry about my battery, p...

However, one thing I like about your solution is that it keeps things intact for the times when you're ca...

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for posting this!I tried it just for kicks this afternoon; then by coincidence I went to Home Depot and purchased 20 2x4s, for which I had to fold the passenger seat forward. Re: Best Aux Converter (FireFighterBeav)

Welcome to the forum! I also went from a pickup to a Vibe, and I am also a Starmate owner. I'm also looking for an aux converter, as I have tired the SIR-GM1 and USA-Spec DFGM aux input, both with no luck. I had an aux input in my truck, and like you I don't find the FM modulator to work well.I'm go...

Well, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that I was wrong...the connectors fit PERFECTLY into the back of my 2005's single-CD head unit (with Monsoon, but my understanding is that it's the same as without M&T).The bad news is that NOTHING happens when I press the CD/AUX or BAND butto...

You got me curious, as I've been looking at that item for a few weeks now. The version for Fords worked like a charm when I had my Ranger.I just picked one up on my lunch hour; haven't had an opportunity to tear into the dash, but if memory serves me correct the 12-pin connector on the USA-Spec's ha...

I finally gave up and sent mine back to Crutchfield. Hopefully they - or Directed Electronics (the manufacturer) - will figure something out and incorporate it into a later release. But for now I've spent time on the phone with both companies and it appears that no one know why this was listed as an...

If you've got the right software on your PC, it's relatively easy. Most of the PCs I've bought in the past few years have an application like those produced by RoxioFirst, you put the disc into the PC and "rip" the tracks (songs) to your hard drive. Then you put a blank CD in and use the p...

According to the packaging (not that it's the ultimate authority) the SIR-GM1 works on '04 and later Vibes that have a BAND button on the head unit (versus an AM/FM button).Round two: Disconnected the battery and let the car sit for an hour or so. Reconnected the battery, started the car, turned on ...

I'm having a similar problem with my '05 Vibe (M&T, single-disc, non-XM), except mine won't come on AT ALL. I just installed my second SIR-GM1 with the same results, so I think it may be an issue with the head unit or the car's data bus.Right now I'm letting the car sit with the battery disconne...

I hope this isn't seen as hijacking a thread, but your post points to a gripe that I have with stereo upgrades in general. Why is it that with all of the aftermarket head units available, they're all:a) single-DIN, so they look like an afterthought in most cars,b) over-featured, so look like a minia...

Apparently this is an ongoing problem, judging from this technical notice that...
