Re: RAAMat BXT sound deadening installation pix (vibolista)

Thanks for the input guys. I will continue to lay foam under the cargo area, inside the panels and in every crevice. Despite how much time I've already put in the car I would guess I'm only half-finished! Sound deadening is a laborious task! It is an all-or-nothing deal. Unfortunately my tire/wheel ...

thanks keithvibe, I did manage to lay down and adhere Ensolite to the floorboards from the firewall to the backseat but then ran out. I used 1 yoga mat for the 2 front doors (closed cell foam). Perhaps I'll get some more Ensolite from RAAMaudio and take your suggestion!

RAAMat BXT sound deadening installation pix

I finally got around to sound deadening the 2003 Vibe the past couple of weekends and although the stock audio system has improved considerably, I'm still left with a slightly disappointed feeling because I had in mind the car would turn into an S-class after this project. The project was done in 2 ...

The only reason GM/Toyota said the SC isn't compatible with the awd is they didn't want to warranty the powertrain (awd > fwd, as far as parts and $$$). But it has been done, and you're not the first to think of it. Do it!

I've been off the radar for a while haven't i?My weekends have been consumed with road cycling and racing, after my saturday workouts I'm too tired to do anything. But I still watch over MO though.I agree, I need to just get a new HU, something that'll fill up the double DIN space, something LCD, som...

radio resets to 12:00 when I shut off the car sometimes

(removed)? First I got that left-side LED to burn out on my radio display like a bunch of others, now sometimes when I start my car, the radio likes to read 12:00.anyone else?I've about had it with the stock Vibe H/U.

I know URD makes one for Toyota's 3.4L, IIRC, but I don't think anyone's done WI through a throttle body spacer. It'd be a clean install if it could be done!http://www.urdusa.com/produc...

Re: is the trip odometer in miles or Km (Rocketfella)

sorry to say rocketfella, but 8.5L for every 100km is only 27mpg. Where did you get that number? With solid "hwy" driving at 75-80 mph (121-129km/hr), I get 33 mpg (14km/L), "City" is more like 24 mpg (10.2km/L).I would only use the EPAs mpg ratings as a mere guideline. There is n...

exhaust gas temperatures

Well, I finally installed my probe on the header for EGT. It was really hard taking a 1/4" bit up to that nice JP header and boring a hole in one of the runners, but once I had the pilot hole made, there was no turning back. Install was clean and easy ('42 Draft Designs' even includes shrink wr...

so the Vibe doesn't have a lock-up torque convertor? Overdrive on my 4th gen Monte Carlo was 4th gear with the tc locked up, and I always though overdrive meant having your torque convertor locked soas to improve economy on an auto tranny. on a side note, OD on the Monte was annoying: 130hp V6, 3600...

Hey yeah, those are Irocs. Its commonly done within the Chevy crowd, they look nice, don't upset the lines of the car and they age well. And wow, a 383! Nice. Unfortunately, this car came with the 4.3L which essentially the 350 (same bore and stroke) but with two cylinders cut off - but lots of low ...

are Vibe Gauges real?

Back in the day, both to save money and to avoid freaking out the consumer when they see the water temp creep past 180°F on a 5 mile ascent, the manufacturers installed "idiot lights." Nowadays, they install what appear to be gauges, but I've heard they're still switched. Do the gauges in...
