I am still using close to 9.5~10L/100km after almost 9000km on it.30% highway and 70% local, local drive is some times in heavy traffic though. Is this normal? It is way to far from the official number.
yes it is correct......i have found out after watching motoring 2005 on tsn...that toyota has been falsifying there fuel....mileage....they move there #'s around and say there cars are fuel economical and not fuel efficent.as far as iam concerned its a out right lie.......they say that the new 2005 vibes get 49 miles.....major BS..they will be lucky to get 36 at best......no one here on a regular basis is getting over that amount........i wish i was rich enough to go after toyota for this is is a major crap line they feed u to buy there cars.......most GM cars are as good or not better then toyota's.my 2 cents.....wish i had a copy of that show of tsn's motoring 2005...

Its funny though the Ministry Of Transportation best fuel charts places Vibe best of that class. Now in the winter with letting my car warm up... I see full tank of anywhere between 300-400km per tank. Thats also city driving... highway driving, warmer weather, I see 400-500km per tank depending on how heavy my foot is.

300-400km per tank in the winter?!?!?!wow...during the winter i'm getting 520km when the light turns on...with city driving!if i do only highway driving, my light turns on at 610km or so....with a heavy foot i see it turn on around 550 - 600km.
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!

But I'm also just past that 10,000km mark were they tell you your mileage "should" start to get better... Guess we'll see when I get reunited with my car in May.

tap the little button in the dash to cycle through the three settings, current KM or Milage(Vibes can not be changed from KM to Miles) and 2 trip recordings. I use one to monitor fuel and the other to monitor my 5000KM oil change

sorry to say rocketfella, but 8.5L for every 100km is only 27mpg. Where did you get that number? With solid "hwy" driving at 75-80 mph (121-129km/hr), I get 33 mpg (14km/L), "City" is more like 24 mpg (10.2km/L).I would only use the EPAs mpg ratings as a mere guideline. There is no way hwy mileage should be considered "driving at 48 mph for 45 minutes and getting up to 57mph once during that time". I mean, really, who drives like that on the hwy? The EPA needs to reconsider the way they calculate mileage because I'll say hands down, the way they do it now is wrong. and it only misleads people.
