I have seen several posting involving installing the GM supercharger on the AWD 2005 Vibe. There has been a change to the 2005 throttle body which will not accomodate the supercharger. I have spoken with Pontiac and GM reps and there is no program contemplating an adapter kit for the supercharger. One GM rep. said that the entire emissions control system had been changed on the 2005 Vibe. We purchased our 2005 base engine FWD Vibe with the express intent of having the supercharger installed; the dealer ordered the supercharger and found out it could not be hooked up; he was also told that he would not be able to return the supercharger since it was a special order item. How's that for treating your dealers fairly?
did you pay via credit card??? Special order , smorder I would dispute it. !!!!! you have ...what... 30 days?? ....I dont like those shady guys!!What do you call 20 dealers vacationing in Indonesia being swept away by a Tsunami????????????????????????????answer: A good start

A similar thing happened to '03 owners (insert name here) who bought a base Vibe instead of a GT on the basis of supercharging the base for less$$$ than the cost of upgrading to a GT. Then the price of a supercharger mysteriously doubled making it equally or more expensive.
Does anyone know for certain if the supercharger thats been installed on the '03s and '04s is compatible with the '05s? I talked to a pontiac dealer today, but at first they didn't even know you could get a sc for it, so i don't really trust their answer. I might just play it safe and find and '04
They never seem to know much about anything for some reason. You would expect that the person who sells you something should be able to answer ANY questions about it!Which dealer did you go to BTW??? I am in SD as well.Arg!!! 666 posts! Better post again quick!

I work in the UTC area, went over to Miramar Pontiac GMC Truck on my lunch and spoke with Michael (sales guy) and Marty, who seemed to be the guy to whom Michael answered. Marty seemed confident that the sc was compatible with the '05. /seemed hard pressed to sell me an '05 :/
The reason the S/C won't work on the 05's is because of the drive by wire throttle body. The 03-04 have the cable throttles. So yeah. That's the deal with that.

TRD4reel, thank you so much. This is exactly the kind of answer for which I was looking. Why can't the sales guys be as informed?/knows more about his Monte than some mechanics
Some of the early 05s may not be drive by wire. Check under your hood to see if there is a throttle cable or not. Quiet a few 05awd/4wd owners have reported on having a cable. Havent heard of any 2wds with a cable yet.
hmmmm....(rubs hands together, slyly). If I could find one like that, it'd sort of be a loop hole. That would rock as I'd be able to get a same-model-year with the SC. As I don't own one yet, anyone got a picture so I can get an idea of what exactly to look for? I would be able to go into the lot, pop the hood, and say, "I want this one!" while the salesperson just looks at me like I'm crazy.
Look at the pictures on this thread here.http://www.matrixowners.com/fo...35328Keep in mind the info discussed here is for the AWD. And technically the supercharger is not warranty approved for the AWD... but it works. Ive yet to see someone with a 2wd05 jumping up and down yelling "ive got a cable". But just like the AWDs there could be some early ones with a cable. (It was someone here on Genvibe who discovered this by the way.)
I see a true-blue GM Vibe Supercharger on eBay going for about $150.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...88465Also, I think the dealer was stuck with the cost of the supercharger, not Viber3.

where did u get the info about that,,i doubt it will ever come out,, have u ever read the article about the 2005 supercarged corolla? its the first drive by wire car supercharged, which is going to be auction off for charity,, I contact the people in canada who installed it. they said that trd made oni a single adapter and told them that its not to be duplicated. it also has a diff ecu. not oni that,, b4 they started the project for corolla, the dealer never knew that there was a new throttle drive by wire crap. so after delays and call backs,, trd made just one for them due to tha fact that its for charity. here is the link, http://www.winnipegfreepress.c....html man,,they left all the 05 1zz in the dirt.. we are weak and hopeless.. then again, there is turbo, but i wanna also keep my warrantee
