Re: Your car buying lineage (NovaResource)

I am 42.First ride was a 1974 Chevrolet 1/2 ton 4X4. I had dual exhausts installed. sounded fast but was not.Second was a 1970 Monte Carlo 454 SS. that was a fast car. wish I would have kept it too.Third was a 1977 Chevrolet 3/4 ton 4X4 with all the toys. lift kit, huge tires etc.Fourth was a 1979 T...

I would venture to guess that Buick will be on the chopping block. I mean Pontiac is GM's performance division. Buick is just for the blue hair set. Although my wife had an '03 Rendezvous that we liked.

Re: New long life oil....any opinions..see link (robdog)

In the 70's, as a teenager I worked at a local mobil gas station. Our mobil rep that visited every so often would tell us that an oil change of mobil1 was good for 50,000 miles as long as you changed the filter and than topped off at what would be normal oil change intervals. IIRC we even had mobil1...

My wife's daily ride.2004 AWD Abyss, monotone. Moon and tunes, power windows, locks, etc. The only mods we have done, other than our 16 year old daughter dinging the front bumper, is an OEM Vibe full front cover /bra. And I just recently picked up a hiddenhitch brand trailer hitch. Had to be the eas...

Re: AWD Verses FWD? (jmf2)

Up here in snow country, we average somewhere around 200 inches of snow every winter. We went with the AWD for that obvious reason. I'm sorry that I can't give you a review on the Vibe as we just got it in May '04. Our previous vehicle to the Vibe was a 2002 Buick Rendezvous that had a very similar ...

Re: New Jersey Cell Phone Ban Takes Effect Thursday, July 1st (ragingfish)

It should be law in all fifty states. I'm in New York and have no problems using a hands free head set. Quite frankly, after getting used to talking via the head set I rarely talk on my phone with out it. Even when I'm not driving. Sadly, some people still chose to ignore the law. IMHO that's why th...

I've got the Ding King too. Picked it up at target for about $20. And yes it does work. I used it on my wife's previous car a 2002 Buick rendezvous CXL. She hit our plastic mailbox and left quite a dent in the rear passenger door and rear quarter. It took me most of an afternoon to remove the dent(s...

...for an extremely unusual sound from the driver's side rear wheel. It only happens when braking. Quite frankly it almost sounds like the shoes in the rear drum are binding up. Am I the first to have this experience?

Absolutely not. We have the moon roof option also and have yet to have a leak. On our last GM product, 2002 Buick Rendezvous, the moon roof leaked from day one. Oh, and a little problem that sometimes when you opened the moon roof all the way it refused to close again. Not fun especially when we got...

Zymol is my absolute favorite. The real key to the super glossy finish is easy., After applying the finish you absolutely have to follow up with a spritzer bottle of clean water and a clean white lint free polishing rag. Spritz the finish lightly with water and then buff out. Only do a fender or doo...

Cool. Another fellow Syracusan. You didn't happen to buy your sivler vibe at Bill Rapp did you? If the dealer couldn't find the all black that we wanted, (which they had to go to Buffalo to find the one configured to our specs), silver at Bill Rapp was our next choice!!! See around the hill.
