The avatar is Tom the cat. Tom has been around for fourteen years now and pretty much rules the house. We consulted with him and he approved of the Vibe.

It is AWD. Being here in upstate ny we have alot of snow to deal with in the winter months. AWD is very important to us. As far as any mods, I have been learning here what others have done and I am still considering my options. In no particular order, dark tint to rear windows and hatch window, pontiac factory bra for the nose of the vibe, and I am interested in replacing the standard headlamps with the xenon ultra white bulbs. Not a mod, but next weekend the factory oil gets changed to full synthetic.

Thanks. As for the change intervals with the synthetic oil, i normally let it go to somewhere between 6-8k before changing both the oil and filter. But just a quick story about change intervals. When I was a college kid I worked for a summer at a local Mobil gas and service station. This was about the time that Mobil 1 was coming out and few of us knew enough about sythetic oil to know how often to change it out. Had a Mobil factory rep tell us that Mobil 1 was designed to last 50 k in the average family car and the only thing necessary was to change the filter at 3-5k intervals and top off the lost oil from the filter change. I never have followed that suggestion myself, but IIRC Mobil even had that change interval reccomendation on some literature that we handed out telling about Mobil 1.

Hi Mojo. In Syracuse here too, and just got our '04. Looks like you bought yours in Fulton at Laqua's. Anyway, we just got a satellite silver 5 speed (hard to find, actually) and have tinted the windows, changed the shift knob to brushed aluminum, and added 5 spoke alloy rims to it. It's looking very good! I'll post pics the next time I wash and P21S (a great carnuba wax) it.

Cool. Another fellow Syracusan. You didn't happen to buy your sivler vibe at Bill Rapp did you? If the dealer couldn't find the all black that we wanted, (which they had to go to Buffalo to find the one configured to our specs), silver at Bill Rapp was our next choice!!! See around the hill.

Zymol is my absolute favorite. The real key to the super glossy finish is easy., After applying the finish you absolutely have to follow up with a spritzer bottle of clean water and a clean white lint free polishing rag. Spritz the finish lightly with water and then buff out. Only do a fender or door at a time. Always excellent results.

Hi MoJo, yes we did buy it at Bill Rapp, but they had to locate it for us. They were absolutely great to deal with! This is our second car we bought from them and they are indeed "super". We'll have to meet up and compare Vibes at some point!
