Tucson is MUCH cooler than Phoenix, especially when the sun goes down in summer. I think it has to do with the elevation. The downside to Tucson is that it is a rather boring town, except right around the U of Arizona. There are definitely more things to do in Phoenix.

If you got the "Protection Package", then it has it. "Protection Package" is Side-Impact Airbags and Theft-Deterrent Alarm System. The Theft-Deterrent Alarm System includes the Ignition Kill.

On the 05 Vibe, I think the rebate will go up to $2000 in a month or so, when all the 04 Vibes are off the lot. If you can wait a month or two, numbers may come out different.

It does not say "Optional" It listed it as a feature under 6-CD stereo.I called Pontiac, and they couldn't figure it our over the phone. They suggested that I take it to a dealer.I will have a dealer look at it when I take my Vibe in to get some rattles fixed.

They are very good size van. I think they actually call it mid size van.Salsa is right, this is an old design, with truck ride (which may make more difference on longer trips). I saw a supercharged Vibe in the showroom at Rydell Pontiac in Van Nuys (818) 267-1400 when I was shopping around for my Vibe back in November. They also have a sister Pontiac dealer in San Fernando (818) 361-8655. They must have installed it themselves. Give them a try.

If the "safety record" is based on statistics, it is possible that the difference is the driver. Perhaps Matrix drivers are worse drivers, or that average age of Matrix driver is younger and more accident proned.

Seems like they always blame refinery problems for high gas price. You have to start wondering how much of it is true.The gas price has actually gone down (very slowly) for two weeks now in Southern California and it costs now $2.17 for 87 octane at a station by my house. It is ridiculous...

I have had one for over 10 years. Finally, cashed it in on my 2004 Vibe. It gave me extra $3788 off. I have to admit that I would not have bought a Vibe if it weren't for the GM Card. I have stopped using it since and am not sure when I will use it again.

With all the rebates and other deals going on, Vibe is definitely a better buy. As bellwilliam said, what matters is the cost of ownership, not retail value or resale value. I would also say that the Vibe has lower cost of ownership. And lets remind ourselves, Vibe looks better!!

Make sure you compare the prices of Vibe and Matrix with all the equipments you want. Vibe has higher MSRP than Matrix.
