Re: New aftermarket suspension for 1.8 2010 Vibe

Now that I'm finally getting ready to purchase, I noticed those TRD springs are listed for the 2009 Matrix, which I assume is the same for a 2010 Vibe? It does look like I'll be going with those TRD springs if they are the correct ones for the vibe, as I don't even know where to start finding spring...

New aftermarket suspension for 1.8 2010 Vibe

Does anyone know which lowering springs/struts would be a proper fit for a 1.8L 2010 pontiac vibe? I looked everywhere, and all sites seem to end at the year 2008 for vibes. Also since I've already posted, anyone have suggestions for a 1 - 1.5 inch drop? Without sacrificing ride comfort much if at a...

Well that didn't take very long and very many opinions. I decided to get 18" Chrome MB Vectors sitting on 225 40 18 Continental extremecontact DWS. Will post pictures probably in the spring....

Cost estimate of new springs/struts

Doe anyone know the rough neighborhood price range of how much front and rear after market spring/struts replacement at a local auto shop should be around? Labor + items.
I am planning to drop my 2010 Vibe an inch to an inch an a half.

Need advice/suggestions on buying new wheels

First of all, does anyone know a link/gallery where I can find Pontiac Vibes with aftermarket wheels on them? I would just like to see how different wheels look on the car. I know some sites have an animation of how a set of wheels would look on a Pontiac Vibe, but they just don't look realistic to ...

Re: New brake pads (Atrixz)

Well guess what, today was a freezing cold day...I started my Vibe, warmed it up a bit, started driving and there was no longer a squeaking/squealing noise! It magically disappeared...I don't even know what the noise was anymore. But there doesn't seem to be a problem now, something must have happen...

I have about 35k miles on it right now. The ESC does activate quite often in the winters when my car slips and slides on the road with a loud crunching noise re-directing my car towards the correct direction...The noise, it's a squeaking/squealing noise that occurs when I lightly and moderately appl...

New brake pads

How much does it cost to get new brake pads installed at the dealership? I have a 2010 Base Vibe. My brakes just started making a high pitched squeaking yesterday and it's pretty loud and annoying. My other question, can we change the brake pads on our own without any problems if we know how to repla...

Odd noise coming from front right wheel

I just recently had my tires rotated while I went in for an oil change. And about a day after the rotation, I started hearing this flapping/whirring noise coming from my front right region of the car. The noise does get faster as the car gets faster. It doesn't sound until 30mph +. My tires do have ...

Click/Klacking Noise

There's this clicking/klacking noise from what seems to be my front axles when I go over small bumps. The noise can be heard going 5 mph up to 30 mph over bumps, even the slightest bumps. I was wondering if the joints need to be lubed every so often or if some component in my front drive area needs ...

How many miles did you put on your factory tires?

Right now I'm at about 25,000 miles on my factory steel wheel/tires and the treads are visibly lower than when I first got it. I was wondering if anyone knew the amount of mileage the factory tires recommend before changing?

Does ESC and Traction Control affect brake wear?

From what I understand, these two things apply the brakes for when you lose control of your vehicle or when your tires spin out of unison. I'm from MN and winters here are pretty bad, tires spin and traction control prevents them from spinning, and the Electronic Stability Control kicks in quite oft...

Re: (sideshowalan)

Yeah, as of right now I'm still changing my oil every 3k miles or every 3 months, as "they" recommend it. But as for brand, it's not a great big deal for me, just more curious about the components in oil.

Ok, I was wondering what kind of oil the dealer uses. I've been changing my car oil at the dealer for over a year now. Been starting to wonder if I should start changing it on my own or go elsewhere. Then the 5w30, 10w30, 5w20, what does the 5/10w stand for? And what does the 30/20 after the letter w...

You know what...now that you brought it up, my whistle also started occurring after I brought it in for the recall. I had no idea they added a throttle body spacer. Thanks Matt, I'm pretty sure it was just the throttle body. I knew it had something to do with the throttle because the noise involved how much I pressed on the accelerator pedal. But again, GM dealers consider this to be "normal", I still bring up the question of why GM would make it so m...

Yeah, well I guess it's more of a hiss than a squeak...Kind of like a .05 psi blow off valve going off, lol. So you think it has something to do with the belt tensioner...Because this noise is more prevalent when it is on drive or reverse. If it's on neutral and I step on the gas pedal, the noise wo...

Hissing/Squeaking noise when I accelerate...

Has anyone had a problem with their vibe making a hissing/squeaking noise when accelerating? This hissing noise only sounds when the car is in drive/reverse, and it only sounds during the first half inch of the pedal being pressed. Pressing the pedal further than half an inch would not make this noi...

Did your exhaust system require any cutting/wielding? Because I know on my truck, they did some cutting and rewielding and some metal residue was left inside the exhaust pipes. It all eventually burned away I guess.

Heh, my 2010 1.8 vibe seems to be 5-8 mph slower...Speedometer would read 41-44 and I'd only be going 35-39. Assuming that posted speed readings are accurate. But I do have to drive quite a bit faster than the posted speed to keep up with other drivers.
