Installed! Kenwood DNX6140 with backup camera!

Bought this for my wife's birthday, for installation in her new '09 AWD Vibe, back in August. Finally finished the installation today...wasn't tough, I just have commitment issues. Got this particular unit because (a) my wife didn't like the rear visibility of the Vibe, and I thought a backup camera...

Re: TPMS reset tool for 2008 / 2009 / 2010 Vibe and Matrix (lovemyraffe)

Well, you could easily argue that the true cost is more like $500. It's the cost of the tool plus the four new sensors, at about $88 each. But since I had ordered the wheel and tire package from Tire Rack, there was no opportunity to swap the sensors in my steelies to the new rims. My choice was, ei...

Re: TPMS + Snow Tires for 2008 and 2009 Vibes (Houston)

ou.grizzly, our TPMS needs to have the sensors' addresses programmed into the system *every* time you swap tires. (The controller only holds four addresses at a time.) See my new post in this forum for info about a tool that lets you DIY. Otherwise, expect to pay the dealer every time you want to sw...

TPMS reset tool for 2008 / 2009 / 2010 Vibe and Matrix

I recently found a tool that allows us 2008+ Vibe and Matrix owners with direct TPMS to swap wheels and still have a working TPMS. Revolution Supply sells it here, for $150 plus shipping. It needed a little massaging to get the software up and running, but the concept is neat...after an initial setu...

Worth saying again: Snow tires worn down to 6/32nds are no longer snow tires. Snow tires are generally only good in the snow for half of their standard tread life...that is, from 10/32nds down to 6/32nds. This is for two reasons...first, the compound that makes winter tires good in cold temperatures...

2009 steel wheel specs

Just thought I'd put it out there for people looking for the info...Took the steelies off my wife's 2009 AWD Vibe (5x114). The 16" steelies had 205/55R16 Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires, a well-known and fairly craptastic OEM tire.Tire+rim weighs 40.5 lbs. OE tire spec is 20 lbs, so the rim (plus the...

Re: 2009 rear bumper skin removal? (gimmegimme)

There's a thing with a phillips head look to it at the top of each panel inside the wheel wells, yes, but they're not screws, they're clips. I got those off, too. What's the procedure from that point, though? Pull straight back? Peel or pry? In which direction? Etc, etc.--Chris

2009 rear bumper skin removal?

Trying to route a backup camera's wires the right way; tried to remove the rear bumper skin unsuccessfully.I removed the four large clips on the bottom of the skin, and the two screws that are covered by the hatch when closed. What's next?--Chris

Just ordered the DNX6140 for the wife's 2009. I had two XM radios that were out-of-subscription recently; one on our 2009 Vibe, and another on my Garmin 2730 GPS. XM called me and offered the $77 per year, and when I declined they offered five months for $19.99, which I took. I just have to remember to cancel it before they start billing me qua...
