new custom shift knob

I just added a new custom made shift knob. My brother made it on a CNC out of aluminum. It is a little too short so he is making another one that is a bit taller.

I pinstriped my Grand Prix and it looked great because I followed the lines of the cars. The way I did it was to lay down a thin strip of masking tape (moving it around until just right) and then use the masking tape to help place the stripe.

I also bought my vibe because of how easy it is to throw my bike in the back. I don't like driving with it on the outside of the vehicle. Also the plastic floor is nice so that any grim on the bike will easily clean out. Only disappointment is that in order to stand the bike I have to remove the sea...

Sweet thanks for finding out the threading for me. I am going to have my brother make me a shift knob. He does CNC machining. When he had a truck with a manual transmission he would make shift knobs all the time.

That is a tough question. I would think you would get more for the parts and the stock car separate but if it cost more to put back together then there is no point. You will also likely end up buying another car within a year anyways and then you have a payment again.

When I was restoring my trans am I used to get parts like that from Weaver Auto parts. They had a little book that I was able to go though and find that type of stuff. You might also find them at a Pep Boys they usually have a section of fasteners and clips and things.

I have heard that O2 sensors going bad can cause a large drop in fuel mileage without tripping the CEL. I don't know how much the ones on the Vibe cost but if they are pretty cheap you might try that.

They used to make radio manuals for fixing the radios, I have one for 78 GM Delco radios. I don't know of anyone who still fixes such things but you might look into it.

So far I have only put the seat down to transfer my wheels to the shop where I installed them. I like that I didn't have to have my brother haul them for me. My Vibe and I will get along just fine.

Great Summary.I personally have never sanded my interior parts I think it would ruin the grain. I have also never used clear coat. My last car had the the dash and center console painted for 5 years with no issues.Also it mentions using the SEM products, which is what I have always used.

I think a lot of it comes from experience. I think the biggest mistake that people make is not prepping the parts correctly. If your not using a good cleaner like Prep-All then you start.As for plastic interior parts try using an interior auto paint. If done right it will never crack, peel, chip or ...

You should be able to turn in the claim without your rates changing. A windshield chip shouldn't even show up on your claims history. The whole point in paying the chips without a deductible is to get people to fix there windshields before they become a problem and cost the insurance company more.
