Re: Is the HVAC control module the same as the engine PCM? (dgekiere)

DG, I owe ya a beer, thanks for the help. I bought a factory service manual on dvd on ebay, and it is full of errors. Like switching out the relay for the clutch, when there is no relay in the circuit. It references the HVAC control module, yet does not have any component locations that I can find. ...

+1.We were supposed to get a brand new vibe when the employee pricing was around. We never drove a 09, just assumed that it would be more or less the same as our 03.I rent cars almost every week for my job. Anything from SUV's to suckstobeyou's. I am so glad they gave me a 09 to drive, because I wil...

Big People: 09 vs. gen 1 - Damn, the 09 is smaller!

I rented an 09 today, and drove it 240 miles. Our 03 seems more comfortable, the 09 has me pretty cramped up. It feels like the seat does not go back as far, it needs about two more clicks back!

Re: fuel economy in 09 2.4 litre,5 spd. auto base fwd. (mikes09vibe)

+1. Our dealer CANNOT locate a 1.8/5speed/power at all. He did find a 2.4, but so far we do not want that. Highway mileage is one thing, the Impala I just rented got 31.Around town the difference between the 1.8 and 2.4 is/ will be more dramatic, and that is where 90 percent of the miles are for us....

We paid a tad over 14K for our 03 6 years ago. It was the base 5 speed w/power package. We turned it in on a new one with $6900 trade in. Not bad, 50% over 6 years. It had 56K miles iirc. With rebate, employee pricing, and 3K in GM card points, we get a new one w/same options for 7K, out the door, tax...

About the '09 engine choices..

1) Is the 2.4 the ecotec, i.e., not a 'yoda engine?2) Is the 1.8 the very same engine that worked so well in our '03? I never had a complaint about that engine....

Re: (vintagegz)

21/28 vs 26/32. I have hit 37 with the 03 on a 1500 mile trip. That is a significant difference over the life of a car.1.8 w/ speed is fairly rare around here. Everyone "can get them", but no one nearby has one in stock.

Well, looking at this add leaves me to think the big sales book that I picked up at the dealer is full of it:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...89029It clearly shows power locks. It must be the "auto lock" function w/ auto that is not available. Very poorly worded.

Just going by the literature, because if we buy, they bring in the car from over 100 miles away. Seems 5 speed 1.8's are rare. Our 03 also has fog lights. Cant get them in the new one. they are really dumbing down the base model, it is irritating. We would consider the 2.4, but the mileage is signifi...

No power door locks for 09 w/ manual transmission? (removed)?

All ready to get a NEW 09, with the preferred package, it has NO power door locks with the manual? Remote keyless, but no door lock?WHY??????They offered us a killer deal, turn in our 03, and 7K cash/ 3 K GM card points. But no power door locks may be a deal breaker.

Vibe vs. Toyota blower motor.

Anyone know if this an interchange?GM part from RockAuto runs $132, the Toyota part runs about a third.I have seen on the maintenance forum that the blower motor is a POS, many have seemed to have issues with it. But no one that I could see has answered if the Toyota part is the same.Just replaced t...
