Re: What is this noise? (When car is off)

I know the beginning of this post is nearly three years old, but the same thing happened to me last night. In the evening I stepped into the garage and heard a faint humming noise. I quietly listened and thought it was something outside. I checked outside, but it wasn't from there. I thought it may b...

Re: We Members to Post Pictures of your Vibe in the Recreational Setting (ou.grizzly)

Attached is an image of a Midwestern zoologist's Vibe. He does a great deal of crayfish collecting and he uses the trailer to cart the specimens and needed preservative. I'm not sure how to get the image into the post, but it is attached.

Re: We Members to Post Pictures of your Vibe in the Recreational Setting (ou.grizzly)

I posted this once before, but here is an image of my Vibe with three kayaks. When I posted, somebody responded with an image of his Vibe w/ even more boats atop.

Re: Help!!!!! (joatmon)

Is this in anyway connected to humid or damp weather? I ask for I had a Nissan Sentra that would do this. Nissan replaced ignition coil, but the problem remained. Any time it would rain or be very humid, the car would stall. Problem was a cracked distributor that allowed moisture inside. I had that ...

Re: Front license plate bracket (birdman1)

In the Volunteer State we do not have a front license plate (we have to have some place for our college football logo!), but since my car came from a dealer in MO, it came with a bracket. Let me check to see if I still have it and I will mail it to you. I will look tonight and respond tomorrow. If I...

Front End Alignment

Yesterday Mrs. Botany took the 2007 Vibe in for an oil change. The staff at Bridgestone indicated they would rotate tires for free, so she knew that was something I had mentioned and had them do that. They then stated the car was in need of an alignment for $69.99. Smart gal, for she stated the car ...

Does Singapore drive on the left-hand side (does your car have a right-hand drive)? If so, where is it manufactured? Thanks for sharing photos.

Re: roof rack (willysr)

There may be some discussion on this posted from the past. I bought Thule crossbars and attachments for the side bars that are on the Vibe. I then bought clamps for a Matrix that hook to the roof above the front doors. This allows for a longer spread. If you use the online Thule custom fit guide, fi...

Okay, I thought three kayaks atop one Vibe was using the rack to its potential. I loved the picture of 5 and am impressed you loaded six. Looks like you were outfitted for some serious whitewater.

With the three atop, I simply drove back to our put in site on the river. However, with two we drove a long distance at interstate speeds, and I hardly notice I am transporting them.

Re: Potential New Owner - Manual Transmission (NibCrom)

I can't answer the question in term of comparing it to others, but I am very happy w/ my 5 speed (2007). As others noted, you can get power windows/locks w/ 5 speed and that option package also includes cruise control. Someone did note, and it was my experience, that it was hard to find a 5 speed w/...

Re: fishing question (mathteacher'04vibe)

I fish using the vibe. I often have a canoe on top. Sometimes I break the poles down other times I have the back seat down and lay the pole down and the tip extends between the front seat.I agree with the other post. Breaking down a rod is hardly work considering all the other things you need to do ...

Re: buying a vibe (taynkay)

Regarding AC. It may be worth going to a heating and AC supply house or hardware store and purchasing a duct thermometer. This will allow you to actual check just how cold the air is from the vent. Also, the vibe has an in-cabin airfilter (in addition to the normal filter for motor area). You can ask...

Re: Gas Milage on '07 Vibe (keithvibe)

Increased gas mileage w/ greater miles sounds great. True the Vibe is bigger than a Sentra. However, one would like to see an increase in efficiency in standard gass engines in the course of 16 years.Given the size of the car and the room available, I am indeed pleased.

Gas Milage on '07 Vibe

I don't drive a whole lot and have about 4k miles on my 07 Vibe. I have checked nearly every tank. With city driving it can range from 29 - 31 and I recently took a 1200 mile round trip and on the highway received 33 - 36 mpg. Not bad, but my old 1991 Nissan Sentra did a bit better.

Re: (joatmon)

I haven't had my 2007 Vibe for very long and so far I am pleased with it very much. The main thing I would change on a new model, is to have the roof rack extend from front to back rather than having it short as is now. To improve on roof hauling, the bars should be level rather than sloping to the ...

Re: GM roof rack and Thule kits (ebslopp)

You can see a thread I posted. The fit kit for the doors only comes w/ the set of four. I already had the Q towers for another car, so I cannot say if you can get only two or not, but I get you could. I purchased my components (and those for a Nissan sentra) at Rackattack.com

Re: Roof Rack (ebslopp)

I could not find the Thule Fit Kit 2119 in the half pack. Just so you know they are simply the metal brackets which hook to the Q towers (sold separately). They do come with the rubber foot pad which goes under your Q tower.I paid $49.50 + shipping for full set. If interested in the other two, we co...

Roof Rack

One reason I went w/ Vibe over Matrix, was I needed a roof rack for kayaks and canoe. The rails on Vibe need to be longer, but I did manage to place a cross bar on the back of the rails and then use a window clamp bracket for front cross bar. I used the Thule 4502 Crossroad Half Pack (for Vibe w/ ra...

Re: Bought a Vibe last night (Whelan)

Regarding the Matrix, I did indeed look at that. I was unaware of either and looked at several wagon-styled rigs. When I first started shopping, I thought I would want a Ford Focus, but I did not like the way the seats folded down: you had to lift up the back seat bottom for the back of the seat to ...

Re: Bought a Vibe last night (mr_ric10)

A few weeks ago I bought my Vibe. It is pretty standard (did get the cruise/power locks option), 5 speed. So far, I enjoy it a great deal. Have yet to add gasoline, but I will be sure to check milage and post.I have been following some past postings about disabling the daytime running lights, and I ...
