Humble JDM Voltz Owner from Singapore

Post by Voltz »

Greetings to all bros ans sis here.. Im Daniel from Singapore and this my humble 03 JDM Toyota Voltz aka Pontoac Vibe.. Been its owner since day 1, been pumping money and efforts to upgrade and beautify this neverdying beauty.. From 6pot Calipers to coilovers suspension.. From performance headers to undercarriage.. The next project will be the TRD SC.. We have some reli interesting products from Singapore for the Vibe undercarriage (I will try to post the pics), namely the Summit Front Tower Bar, Front Lower Subframe, Rear Lower 2nd Antiroll Bar Link.. These products reli improved the handling of my Voltz by leaps and bounds! I hope that i will be able to share with you guys of some of these good stuffs for our cars.. Cheers.. Pls feel free to comment.. RgdsAs "instructed" by Bro WaveAction , i have uploaded all my pics in photobucket for easier browsing.. Thanks for yr suggestion Bro WA.. 1. Summit Racing Rear Lower 2nd Anti Roll Bar Sway Link,, Boy im telling you, this piece of metal works! Stiffen the chassis by at leat 50%.. The construction of the rear multi link suspension is weak..2. Summit Racing Front Lower X-Subframe Brace.. This pc of metal ties the axle arm to the main crossmember chassis.. Stiffen up the front chassis member.. Handling for a FWD like mine better by at least 70%.. Pin sharp handling and more neutral steering feel. High speed stability is also up!

Hi bro CountryVibe.. thks for yr comment, i guess im the only freak who will spend so much $ on a base 1.8 Auto.. haha.. Anyway we do not have the GT VVTLi variants in Singapore.. Anyone has the VVTLi engine for sale there? haha Is it illegal in the US to remove the cataylic convertor? well there is one resistor and one cat in our car.. i removed both and viola! i drive a totally new Voltz! Driveblity of the car up by almost 100%, power unleashed! We had a "choked" Vibe that roll out from a factory.. Though we noe its very environmentally unfriedly to remove the cat, but the need for power overwrites everything..

Hi Bro Raivis..The HID has many variants.. The cheaper ones (Taiwan or China made) will cost about USD150-200.. The higher end ones like Raybrig will cost about USD1000, Phillips or hella maybe will cost about US500..DISCLAIMER: this is a rough guide of the price we had in Singapore..

I have the Tein S-tech springs. I just think that the standard ride height of the Vibe/Voltz leaves too much wheel gap for me.

For the Tein S-Techs, did u get the set meant for the Corolla? if its yes, the rear spring rate for the corolla is way too soft for our car and it will get very bumpy esp wif passengers onboard.. i got the same problem when im using the Stech on my Voltz as our car is heavy at the rear as compared to a corolla.. hopefully they do have the exact specs for Vibe in US.. correct me if im wrong.. The stock absorbers is way too soft at the rear resulting into huge body rolling when we corner.. and the stock Toyota Absorbers starts to give way and "sunken down"at the rear making our Vibe looked as if its carrying a 10 ton tank in our boot.. haha Now i have gotten coilovers.. specially customised for our Voltz/Vibe.. 12kg(F) & 10kg(R) spring rate.. u got the hell of a control over your machine yet able to maintain the comfort level! Handling aside, surprisingly Braking inmproves significantly as "nose dive" have been miinimised.. One of my most bang for buck mod..

Hey Wave, it's good to have the photo bucket links, but I prefer to have them attached to a post and then linked. I can't view photobucket at work which is where I typically check GV out, so it sucks when photobucket is used because I can't see the pics. I like it this way, but to each their own.

Hi bro herb.. The strut bar is from Summit Racing.. they used to be the OEM manufacturer of Cusco which explains their quality and looks.. very sturdy design too.. the price is abt USD160.. I think the price is quite worth it given its quality and looks.. Very high resale value too.. haha..oh ya they have the front lower subframe and the 2nd anti sway bar link specially customised for the Toyota Voltz and Pontiac Vibe.. cheers!

Hi bro waveresponder.. thks for ur kind words.. i loved the cool blue paint of your car! we only have the black, red and silver available in Sin.. i believe in keeping my ride simple and sleek cos our car was already alook or rather a inborn beauty by nature.. but certain stuff can strengthen the looks and characters of our car, ie the wheel spacers.. our car has this problem of being too "inward" as our fenders are very much protruding... I have added 15mm spacers for the front and 25mm for the rear.. it looks much "flused" with the body line after installation.. surprisingly it improved overall stablity of the car .. oh ya for the HUD its about USD 120.. qte a small item.. i think can be shipped easily.. Disclaimer: im not trying to make any money here, just trying to share good stuff we have here in Sin wif u guys in US.. and its both ways.. so any SC sellers anyone? cheers bro,,
