Are there any other fishermen/fisherwomen out there? If so, where do you put your fishing poles in the vibe. I have two-pieces poles that break down, but I do not like to break them down--I am too lazy.So far, I have broken two of them because the were crushed by the rear window (they poked out when I rolled the window down & I didn't know it).Anway, does anyone have any suggestions for carrying the poles--full length: 6' - 6'6" w/spinning reels) on the roof? I was thinking of using PVC pipe, but I think it may look a little too Hillbilly~ish.

You're too lazy to break them down but you're not too lazy to go out and buy new ones every time you break them. I've been fishing for 43 years and have never broken a rod. I seperate them at the ferrule and lay them on the back seat. It takes 2 seconds, nobody is too lazy to do that.
You could use 3-4" PVC with thread on end caps mounted to the roof rack, but that would involve more work than seperating the pole. If nobody else is riding with you, just lay down the back seat and let the tip of the pole rest on the center console. or as Sunny said, just seperate the pole.
I guess I will break them down as Sunny suggests. I just hate trying to line up the holes when I put them back together--they never line up straight.BTW, I like buying new poles because my older ones were el cheapo. Now I have an excuse to buy a new one The PVC tubes are common at beaches, that is why I was wondering.

i break mine down and lay them in the back. i've yet to break a pole and hope i dont but last week i went night fishing with 2 friends and one of us stepped on part of the reel of my 2nd rod and sheared off the handle of the reel
What about folding the seats down? You got 8' from dash to back hatch with front pass down and rear pass down.

That is the text book definition of lazy! haha! j/k!I usually put mine in the floorboard behind the passenger seat and angle them so they are facing the back of the car or let them stick out the drivers side rear window a bit.

I fish using the vibe. I often have a canoe on top. Sometimes I break the poles down other times I have the back seat down and lay the pole down and the tip extends between the front seat.I agree with the other post. Breaking down a rod is hardly work considering all the other things you need to do to prepare for a trip.
Typically I can just fold down the backseats and my fish has plenty of room, or heck if we are in a hurry I can just utilize the backseat to...oh wait, you meant actual fish. My bad.
