Gas Milage on '07 Vibe

Post by Botany »

I don't drive a whole lot and have about 4k miles on my 07 Vibe. I have checked nearly every tank. With city driving it can range from 29 - 31 and I recently took a 1200 mile round trip and on the highway received 33 - 36 mpg. Not bad, but my old 1991 Nissan Sentra did a bit better.

the gas mileage is different only because you upgraded your ride... the nissan sentra weighs in at 2266lbs while the vibe weighs in at 2700-2800 depending on trim level not to mention the larger size of the car.All in all 33-36mpg is fantastic for a car with such little mileage on the od. As the car breaks in I think that you will see a slight increase in your gas mileage. I wouldn't be shocked to hear you say you hit 40mpg after you have put a few more thousand miles on the od.

Increased gas mileage w/ greater miles sounds great. True the Vibe is bigger than a Sentra. However, one would like to see an increase in efficiency in standard gass engines in the course of 16 years.Given the size of the car and the room available, I am indeed pleased.

Do you have an auto or manual tranny? Manuals definitely have better gas mileage.
