so i tried this today. it seems that not matter how low my gains were on my amp i was getting some nasty noise and distortion when turning my head unit up past 35 of 40 no matter how low i seemed to set the gains on the amp. it also wasnt near as loud either... is there a reason for this or anything...

what about setting the gains with my head unit at 35/40 would that work just say well? I want to be a little cautious I have 75RMS going to some 65WRMS full ranges in the back (the components in the front are 100W RMS so they should be fine)would that work just the same way?

oh also i didnt notice my lights dimming or anything with the volume turned up... the sub amp is 500W RMS rockford fosgate, this amp is 75WX4...it just doesnt appear to be a power problem but i was really expecting more from an amp in terms of volume and umph

ya i actually did the non sliding around stuff toolbox grip stuff and it works well.but what im talking about is the internal structure of the box, your supposed to brace up the 6 internal walls with extra wood for better structure which will equal better sound reproduction

ya im about to attempt the same thing, i picked up a 4foot by 8 foot sheet of 3/4" thick mdf at home depot, it was about 19bucks so not bad. I already made a hard cargo cover out of it and should have enough left over for a box. Good luck

i think im going to build a custom sealed enclosure about 1ft^3 in volume that will fit with the contours of the vibe and still give me nice cargo room, hope it works out if not i may just have to buy a good one
