my CEL codes

Post by dave9382 »

Got my car into autozone today to get the CEL codes pulled. My symptoms for those that done already know,Just installed cosmo shortram. Worked fine for a day or 2 with no lights (am pretty sure now that I installed it right). After about 36 hours, first CEL light comes, on, no biggy car is driving fine and I have to get home from work. I read these boards, check my connections (they all look good) , unplug the negative of the battery overnight and the next morning rehook up and start car up, no CEL which is good, let idle for 30 minutes, turn car off let sit for a minute turn back on and drive off, after about 5 minutes of driving CEL comes back on....Am able to repeat this pretty much every time, can disconnect battery which clears CEL, reconnect it let the car idle for awhile for the MAF to adjust and drive away, as usual after a small period of time driving (though it feels like it is driving fine) the CEL trips again..Got the codes checked today after it happened,am getting these codesP0171 The PCM has determined that during testing the fuel system for bank 1 was too lean.also getting P0300, P0301, P0302, P303, P304I believe the 301-304 was amisfire on cylinder 1-4not sure what 0300 was they werent able to tell me at autozone their computer system wasnt telling them.Anyway, the car seems to be running fine this CEL light just always comes back after a few minutes of driving, any suggestions on what I should check or do to get these to clear up or is it one of those things where they will go away after I break the intake in a bit more? Thanks for the help...

my only hypothosis from reading other posts on this boards is that I overoiled my filter and that the extra oil is getting in the intake pipe causing this to trip?? I have pulled the MAF out to check it but it seemed dry and oil free, I did notice however a slight red tinge of oil (you know the KandN red tinged filter oil) in the intake pipe... Could this be the issue?
