Re: check engine light at 40,000 on 2005 vibe (laciejewel)

I have a 2005 vibe with 50,000 miles on it and the same thing happened to me last week! It's a conspiracy!!! I was just below half a tank, filled up and it went away. Drove it for a week and at around the same place on the gas gauge it's back on.For now I'm going to drive it until the tank is empty ...

Re: Electrical Smell (JohnC)

Well I almost always shut off AC and fan before shutting off the car. I don't use AC or fan in the morning either.I lifted the hood this morning and sniffed around. The smell didn't seem to be near the rad but near the engine block proper. I'd like to say it was close to the alternator, but can't sa...

Rear Wheel Locked?

Hello all, just a quick question...Bad snow storm this morning in Ottawa, Canada. So my wife is pulling into the garage at work very slowly while the front wheels are spinning just a little. I'm standing beside the car while she's driving and notice that the rear driver's side wheel is dragging whil...

Windsheild washer hose

Hi All,I recently got my hood re-painted because of some chips that were present. Anyways, when I got it back my spray didn't work in the front, but was fine in the back.I opened the hood and found where the hose might be getting kinked/pinched and now it kinda works, but definately not like before....

Waxing after new clearcoat.

Hi all... I Just got my Vibe back from dealer after getting the hood redone. When I got it originally I noticed a lot of chips, so dealer agreed to fix them. My question is how long should I wait before I wax it? I believe it was just the clear coat that was redone. (and yes I searched...)On a side ...

Re: Starting problems (intermittent)...only with the MATRIX? (Boxgrover)

I've been having this problem too... very intermittent. I've got about 2500KM on a 05 base Vibe. Haven't been able to find a pattern yet, although I don't think it's ever happened from a cold start, usually after been off for 1/2 hour. Kinda annoying when you're showing your friends you new car. &qu...

Automatic Transmission downshifting??

Hi all... new user/new buyer here.I just got my Vibe last night and noticed on the drive home that my automatic transmission seems to downshift like you would in a standard. Is this normal? Kinda freaked me out at the first red light, as I was almost stopped I saw the RPM gauge go up and heard the e...
