Re: Where to start? Absolutely no power! (ColonelPanic)

Sorry to hear about your problems. I don't have the problem with the Vibe but had a similar problem with another car. You can check your spark-plugs (gap, signs of flooding) and wires (misfire), or possibly a clogged fuel filter, these are the least expensive possibilities. In my case the problem tu...

Re: Has anyone painted their gray plastic cladding? (rcasciola)

I had mine painted by a friend that owns a body shop, charged me $200. Done last fall, it held up well but I noticed a small spot where the paint chipped under the fog light (about a 1/2 inch). This may be due to the continuous snow we've had (record winter about 116 inches) or some other cause, the...

Re: Springtech Coil Springs? Anyone tried these? (SCVibe)

I've read the thread, no one seems to have tried these particular springs, just discussing other brands. Maybe that says it all? Anyway they are alot lower priced so I was curious. I don't want to deteriorate the ride but improving handling slightly would be nice.

Yes technology has come a long way. Those cars were great handlers for their time but not all that quick by today's standards. By the 70's pollution regs. and gas prices were taking a toll on all cars, heck if I recall correctly 1974 Trans Am S/D with a 455 C.I. engine had only 190 hp (but lots of t...

Sunny sorry to hear about the situation. My S/C was only missing a thermostat and that delayed install a few days. Also the manifold mating surface was mildly scratched, but didn't affect install. The seller on E-Bay said he didn't think it came with the thermostat and didn't know anything about the...

Re: celica gt 140 hp engine???? (damronjr)

Could be a number of small things:1. Sometimes manufactures like to list slight differences to show placement (Like the Celica is above the Matrix) but the power is actually the same.2. More likely there is probably a different intake setup, perhaps freer breathing on the Celica, you know a more dir...

Re: Purpose of an aftermarket Rear Sway Bar? (damronjr)

The bar is supposed to keep the suspension planted during cornering, and making it hollow lightens the weight as long as the material it is made out of is rigid. Also check this out:http://auto.howstuffworks.com/question432.htm

I even contacted TRD, if you can read the part numbers from the kit they can tell you if its the same as theirs (think so) and you can probably get parts there, also several sites sell parts cheaper than both dealers. New Member - Cleveland

Hello all, I'm a new member. Been watching the site for a while, don't know why I waited so long to join. I have a 2004 base Vibe, with the usual equipment and some mods. I had the windows tinted and an alarm and remote starter added. Then recently, my favorite, I had the Supercharger installed.
