Re: Unichip

The xB unichip will work with xB tunes. Tc tunes are more radical and will eat spark plugs. This is from what ive been told.

Need Strut help

so im in the market for new shocks and struts. I havent seen any aftermarket options out there for the 09-10 GTs.... probably just gonna throw some stock KYBs back in.... is there a difference in the AWD struts vs the FWD ones. i found a site that has all 4 corners for $200 and free shipping. as i r...

Re: 09-10 GT header?

Well I just briefly read through the Illinois emissions site and they are going to a OBD test only. Got rid of the old "sniffer". So looks like the sim would be the way to go... Which sensor did you install the sim on? The upper(closest to head) or the lower? What pipe did you use between ...

Probably brake rotors and pads next summer. Along with some maintenance stuff along the way. Gotta drop...

09-10 GT header?

I know there's a Megan Racing header for a scion tc that fits our 2.4L. Has anyone installed a header? I'm curious as to the issues we gotta deal with.... o2 sensors, cats, downpipe, fit issues, etc..... I want a header but I don't want to throw codes or fail emissions.... Is it possible???

All fixed..... :)

So after going through nothing but hassle, I found a shop to fix the excessive negative camber I had in the rear after installing the s-techs. I had -3.4,-3.2 in the rear. Stock specs say -.3 to -1.8 A lot of shops I called said they wouldn't touch it cause it was lowered... Autotire said it wouldn'...

Re: 09 vibe gt on s-techs

I read somewhere that it's a common problem with the magnaflow mufflers... Theyve sent out replacements as a warranty issue but I havent tried to bring that up with them. I dunno what kind of documentation they would require but I don't have any of the paperwork anymore.... I saw somewhere that some...

Re: 09 vibe gt on s-techs

Thanks... The drop was a little more of a PITA than everyone leads on. The install wasn't bad. Its getting rid of some of the negative camber I got from the drop. I had a shop that said they'd install shims but once they had the car, said they wouldnt do it. I had a hard time finding a shop that wou...

Re: 09 vibe gt on s-techs

That's what came on the magnaflow cat-back system. It's got the magnaflow emblem etched on the tip. Nice little detail... The system has disappointed me a little. When I first got it, it was throaty... Not raspy. I dunno if something has happened to the baffling or what but it has developed a raspy ...

Re: Unichip

There's a thread on this forum, I believe it's in a members garage, that confirms the xB chip is an exact fit for the vibe... He also tried several different tunes for the xB and tc. But from what the thread says, he gave his vibe to his little brother so he's probably not on here anymore.

Re: 09 vibe gt on s-techs

Ill try and get one. The lighting was bad when I took this pic. I tried to get one straight on but the shadow from the bumper caused everything underneath to be so dark you couldn't see anything. I'm about 4-5 hrs from chicago. I come up there every once in a while to jump at Skydive Chicago in Otta...

Re: 09 vibe gt on s-techs

I'll try and get a pic and post it over the weekend. It's crappy and rainy today. Supposed to be nicer this weekend... I'm from the Illinois side of st. louis..... About 20min away. IMO the vibe doesn't really ride that bad on the springs. It's definitely not like the jeep I used to have. With the g...

Re: Tien S Tech Springs

I just got done putting a set of 03-08 s-techs on my 09 gt. not too bad. I also roasted a sway bar link so I've got a new set on the way. I also didn't remove a bracket holding a speed sensor wiring harness that plugs into the hub. I stretched it and broke it. Now all my abs, e-brake and traction co...

Re: 09 gt suspension

Thanks for the info. I have posted a couple threads in matrixowners.com regarding suspension... I'm still trying to grasp all the interchangeable parts. Anyone know of any replacement strut tower bars for the factory one on an 09 GT? Also anyone know of any other upgraded sway bars ( front or rear )? And what about a bar for the upper rear shock mounts???

Re: Lowering 09 GT

Thanks for the link. I think you're right.... Looks cool but probably just a tad too low for me. May consider the h-techs instead now that I actually see an 09 lowered. That is my ride though. Tinted windows and everything. :)

Lowering 09 GT

Hello there. I've had my 09gt for almost a year now. I put a magnaflow cat-back on and a k&n typhoon intake. Now it's time to lower it. I can't find any info on lowering the 2nd gen vibes. There's plenty on the 03-08 models. I've seen one person say he used springs from an 03-08 with no issues. ...
