Re: dead battery, locked out (khook)

Spray some WD40 in the key hole and work the key gently back and forth this should work. Toyota locks tend to freeze up if not used for a while. I hope this is the solution, because this happened to me too. (Can the cold kill a battery??) Actually, this is the 2nd time this happened. 2003 Vibe... c...

Re: 2003 Vibe/Matrix airbag recall

I'm the 3rd owner of my 2003 Vibe and I somehow got the recall notice (via snail mail) for the driver side airbag harness (?) issue a few months back... Took the letter into a GM dealership and they fixed it. I haven't gotten anything about this latest passenger-side recall though. Should I wait for...

If your car has been waxed over the years,...perhap what you are seeing is the wax lifted off the paint finish... I would think that if it was paint, then it would of bubbled up or blistered up off the metal. Try Bug and tar remover....it is basiclly mineral spirits.....or a car wax stripper. Oh, t...

Home Depot or lowes sells sheets of lexan. Walmart or auto store for silicon. Cool, I'll have to wait until it isn't over 100 degrees outside so I can work on it! Re: Super Glue, Rubbing Alcohol, & Acetone mess...

Hard to say for sure, but I would guess you have simply moved the super glue around with the rubbing alcohol and further spread the glue with the acetone. Although the nail polish remover could have affected the cars finish, it does not appear to in the picture. You may be able to buff off the supe...

Super Glue, Rubbing Alcohol, & Acetone mess...

Hey all- So I was trying to glue the jiggly plastic part over the driver side keyhole (and later put on some semi-cheesy "chrome" door handle covers, which at least make the 4 handles on the car look uniform...) Anyway, I had some serious leakage of the super glue down the side of the door...

Question: If PlastiDip peels off so easily, is it intended to be a permanent or semi-permanent thing, or is it understood to be temporary? I decided to PlastiDip my wheels for the heck of it this weekend... PlastiDip is a truly awesome product! It sprays really nice and evenly and it really does peel right off without issue. I had a really easy time removing it from all the little bolts on the wheels. I gave it just enough time to dry...

The sunroofs on these cars are not and have never been watertight. Almost always when there is water visible from the roof it is because of a clogged drain. There is a tray around the opening to catch the drip that WILL get past the seal. The water catch gutter has a drain in each corner. Since the...

2003 Vibe.

Not a big do-it-yourselfer, as you can tell.

What are those things? There's one on each side of car, sort of near the rearview mirrors. Look like speakers or tweeters or something... anybody know? I'm looking to do some modification on the sound system and was wondering.
