Re: Idle, starting, and Rev issues (Mase)

We don't know yet what caused the MAFS to fail. When I called the Dealer, they did not seem too surprised that it was the MAFS. It could have been due to the removal of the battery which reset the computer and when I started it back up, the cold temp along with the CAI caused the failure. I am leavi...

Well I finally heard from the dealer about 1:30pm on Friday. They called to say they could not diagnose the vehicle with the cold air intake on it. I asked why and they said it would mess up their dignostic tools. IF you know dealers, this is a bunch of bullsh*t. I went and picked up the car and ask...

Idle, starting, and Rev issues

Last night I the driver side headlight went out. SO I removed the battery to change the bulb. Put the battery back in and started it up. The CEL came on and it stalled out almost immediately. I finally got it to idle normally, after several more starts and then took it out on the road. It would not ...

The CAI for the '04 AWD from Cosmo Racing fit my 2005 AWD just perfect. Wasn't a huge gain, but was definetely noticeable. Welcome to the site. Luckily, I have found that most of the parts that fit the 04 will fit the 05 as well.

Cool. Thanks Devlop. We took apart the door on my uncles 2004 2500 Duarmax pickup and it was a nightmare. 4 screws, 3 clips, and 2 slotted/notched plastic things. Took us almost 40 mins to get it off and about an hour to put it back.

I've got the same thing in both of my front windows and an occasional Creak from the moonroof shade. How long did it take them to fix it? 20-30 mins or 1-2 hours? With my schedule it is almost impossible to get to the dealer and I cannot be without a car.

Salsa! is right. The MPG will get better as the car brakes in. I have a 2005 AWD that originally got around 24 mpg on the highway. Now, after 5k miles I am getting 30-32 on the highway. As a side note, all manufacturers test their MPG by driving on a flat surface at 60 mph for the highway mileage.
